Garden Wedding at Villa Le Piazzole

Garden Wedding at Villa Le Piazzole

Every year, I portray dozens of couples from all over the world around Europe. This is the first time I have the pleasure of photographing a couple from Costa Rica and their beautiful wedding at Villa Le Piazzole in Florence. The bride, who’s been forever deeply in love with  Italy, couldn’t help but choose Florence as the location for her wedding. So she left  Costa Rica with a few family members to spend some relaxing days in the Florentine countryside. Right here is Villa Le Piazzole. Surrounded by rows of olive trees and cypresses, the villa has an enviable location, overlooking Florence and the surrounding hills. Is less than 10 minutes away from the major attractions of the Tuscan city and offers its guests relaxation, privacy and a stunning swimming pool with a view. Both the bride and the groom got ready inside the rooms of the villa. The ceremony took place in the garden where the wedding planner Alessia and the florists have created a pretty enchanting setting.… read more...

Faboulous Wedding at Villa di Liliano in Chianti

Faboulous Wedding at Villa di Liliano in Chianti

Villa di Liliano is one of the most beautiful locations I’ve visited this year. It is an ancient Medici villa, lost in the Florentine countryside, among wild fields and olive groves. It is precisely here that the couple of the day celebrated their wedding. They got ready at the Hotel St. Regis, in the historic centre of Florence. The groom joked around until the last minute with his groomsmen, before putting on his beautiful black suit; the bride was aided by her sister and mother to wear the dress and the bridal veil. They gathered in the garden of the Villa di Liliano, where the groom gazed excited at her as she walked down the lawn towards him. They exchanged vows and rings just before sunset on a warm summer day. Later on, the spouses and families have toasted to their union with the local limoncello, always in the garden. I portrayed the couple inside the villa property, in the most charming and lovely spots.… read more...

English Wedding at Borgo Stomennano

English Wedding at Borgo Stomennano

Among last year’s  fantastic venues, Borgo Stomennano holds a spot in the top. I left a piece of my heart there, and I cannot wait to go back and relive another gorgeous wedding. Borgo Stomennano is located in the province of Siena, very close to Monteriggioni and its impressive castle. To reach the villa, you need to walk a grand avenue surrounded by cypresses. The old charm of the villa is still intact. Its walls are burned and yellowed by the sun, and blooming jasmine climb up the facades of the villa surrounding the old windows. The villa also offers a garden with ancient fountains and a lovely pool, plus many accommodations for couples and their guests. They can choose to spend some time inside the large central house, or in one of the many small villas of Borgo Stomennano. This lovely English couple wanted to celebrate their wedding reception here.… read more...

Pale Pink and Grey Wedding in Cortona

Pale Pink and Grey Wedding in Cortona

Cortona is one of those towns where you cannot help but fall in love with it. Perched on the hills, Cortona is the quintessential Tuscany. The downtown streets are delightful, full of outdoor cafes where you can spend a few hours drinking delicious wines and eating the healthy food of the area. Its many doors frame the most beautiful sunsets, with views over the surrounding fields. In short, one of the loveliest places to celebrate a wedding. This friendly American couple was looking for an intimate and genuine wedding, surrounded by a few but real friends and family. The bride got dressed at the Villa Marsili Hotel with her sister, who was very excited! Then she reached her husband at the Town Hall of Cortona, entirely decorated with wood, where their wedding planner Simona was waiting for them. The Town Hall of Cortona is one of the most exciting venues for civil weddings in Italy.… read more...

Tuscany Engagement Session in Chianti

Tuscany Engagement Session in Chianti

The Chianti area, in Tuscany, is one of the most enchanting for any photo shoot. The cinema has often used these beautiful sceneries for memorable movies. Among many, I remember well Under the Tuscan Sun, or Letters to Juliet. It’s no surprise then that many couples in love choose the landscapes of the Chianti area for their engagement session. A year wouldn’t be enough to photograph all the wonders of this area. Along the ancient road that leads from Florence to Siena, it is a continuous up and down between the hills yellowed by the sun. Several dirt roads lined with cypress trees peep through the vegetation, getting lost beyond the horizon. Many of these could be the ideal set for numerous love stories, but all lovers of the world would not be enough to shoot all the gorgeous spots of the area. One of the most beautiful couples of this year took the opportunity of a family trip to be happily portrayed during an engagement session in Chianti.… read more...

Elopement at Villa Vignamaggio

Villa Vignamaggio is one of those places where you could spend an entire lifetime. It is a just renovated old Tuscan-style village near Panzano in Chianti, in one the most picturesque parts of Italy. The property offers rooms for its guests, who spend a few days relaxing in the countryside, making excursions and visiting the most famous wineries in the area. Villa Vignamaggio is also the perfect wedding venue for any photo shoot. The central house, with its pink walls in contrast with the intense green of the vegetation, is ideal for portraits. All around, vineyards, hills and silence: the ultimate dream for every wedding photographer. This lovely Canadian couple decided to celebrate their wedding here. An intimate celebration, which was attended by the photographer, the celebrant and four talented musicians. The ceremony took place in the garden, where the bride and groom promised each other eternal love exchanging wedding rings and vows.… read more...

Garden Wedding at Agriturismo Le Bolli

Attention to detail is one of the prerogatives of every successful marriage. A thoughtful bride already has clear in her mind how her wedding will be well before it begins. She may not always be able to put up all that she’d like, but when she does the celebration is one of those to be remembered for a long time. This is the case of this beautiful ceremony at Agriturismo Le Bolli. The couple, of Italian origins but resident in London, has rented the building to spend a few days in the company of their families and friends from northern Italy. The celebration was just a part of three days of partying. The ceremony took place in the shadow of the great oak. The bride and groom promised each other eternal love in the silence broken only by the sound of a harp and by the applause of their happy guests.… read more...

Garden Wedding at Poderi Arcangelo

Garden Wedding at Poderi Arcangelo

There are many gorgeous villas for weddings in Tuscany, suitable for intimate celebrations and elopements. Few of these can offer garden ceremonies with a view. Poderi Arcangelo is probably the most impressive among these venues, thanks to the beauty of the location and the breathtaking views.  The farmhouse is located on the top of a hill, very close to Certaldo and San Gimignano. The rustic styled villa is nestled into the surrounding landscape, made of cypress trees and vineyards, a paradise for every wedding photographer. Poderi Arcangelo has several modern-style rooms and an excellent restaurant. The real highlight is the garden with a view.  The couple of the day has chosen to celebrate their wedding here. The bride and groom have received their guests at the farmhouse. They both got dressed inside the villa. The ceremony was held on the front lawn, among the applause and the excited glances of friends and families.… read more...

International Wedding at Castello di Vincigliata

Of all the wedding venues in Florence, the Castello di Vincigliata is undoubtedly the most scenic. Perched on a hill near Fiesole, the castle offers newlyweds and guests a breathtaking view, areas set up for every part of the ceremony and the wedding reception, an atmosphere that is not easily forgotten. Today’s couple has organised the wedding right here. The spouses got ready in Villa Fiesole, an elegant hotel at a short distance from the castle. The ceremony took place inside the cloister. The bride and groom exchanged vows and wedding rings under an arch of flowers, in front of their excited guests. I  took the traditional photographs with families and couple portraits inside the castle property. Although the scenery in the surrounding area is lovely, the venue offers many beautiful spots, perfect for wedding photos. The groom had also hired a Fiat Cinquecento, thanks to which I could take some funny pictures.… read more...

Church Wedding at La Certosa

For those who dream of a religious marriage, Florence offers many beautiful churches. The old town is full of ancient and beautiful churches. A real jewel instead is set in the hills around the Tuscan city: La Certosa del Galluzzo, an ancient Carthusian monastery, located in the Florence countryside. The couple got dressed and ready in the beautiful Villa Cora, a stone’s throw from the historic centre and the artistic beauties of the city. The bride looked even more beautiful after a gorgeous make-up made by Anna Matanovic. The lipstick was perfectly in tune with the colour of the bouquets, the wedding table decorations and the favours for the guests. The ceremony was held inside the Certosa. The bride arrived on a beautiful Bentley and climbed the stairs leading to the altar with her father, both clearly excited. Given the beauty of the ceremony and the reception, I took the first part of the wedding photo shoot at the Certosa,  and some other pictures in the gardens and inside Villa Cora.… read more...

Wedding Relais La Costa

Wedding Relais La Costa

Relais La Costa is one of the most elegant luxury farmhouses I’ve ever seen in Tuscany. It is located in Monteriggioni, near Siena and a few minutes by car from Florence. It is an old Tuscan style village renovated to perfection, with the main features that make it so charming left unaltered. It setting of on several levels, with small cottages, a terrace, and a rooftop pool. The spouses got ready in the villas of the property. The bride has experienced the most exciting moments before the ceremony along with her maid of honour and the flower girl. The groom instead with his groomsmen. The ceremony was held in the beautiful church of Colle Ciupi, not far from the Relais. The church is very small, in rustic Tuscan style, completely painted on the walls by Duccio di Boninsegna’s students. The photographs do not do justice to the majesty of the paintings.… read more...

Borgo di Castelvecchio Wedding

Borgo di Castelvecchio Wedding

Borgo di Castelvecchio is one of the most picturesque venues of the entire  Tuscany. I arrived here on a very hot summer day, crossing the desolate streets and the fields burned by the sun. The view of the village was a breath of fresh air. A gate in the middle of nowhere has welcomed me and, soon after, the village showed itself in all its majesty. Borgo di Castelvecchio is an old village restored according to a project respectful of history and territory. The old Tuscan charm has remained intact. The large central courtyard and the stylish villas are situated inside a giant property, near which there are also a panoramic swimming pool and a horse-riding school. All around, there is the view of the Val d’Orcia and the Crete Senesi. A true show, just a few minute drive from Pienza and San Quirico. The bride got dressed and got her makeup done in one of the villas.… read more...

Engagement Photo Shoot in Chianti

A photo shoot in Chianti is an experience to try at least once in a  lifetime. Among the many fascinating places in Italy, the Chianti area is one of the most impressive and well-known. In late August,  nature is at its best. The light is soft, warm and cosy, perfect for intimate portraits. The colours of nature become yellow then turn copper-colored, making the landscapes even more breathtaking. Sunsets are unforgettable. This couple must have thought about this when they decided to take their photographs in the yellowed rolling hills of Chianti. Or maybe they just took advantage of the photo shoot to spend a few days of relaxation and culture in this part of Tuscany. Their engagement photo shoot took place around Certaldo and San Gimignano, in one of the lesser known regions of Tuscany. The bride and groom to be posed between enchanted villages and fabulous landscapes, that inspired the painters of the Renaissance.… read more...

Romantic Wedding in Cinque Terre

Among the many great wedding locations where to elope in Italy, Cinque Terre have to be mentioned among the most charming. Tuscany Beach Wedding Inspiration

Shooting a Tuscany beach wedding is always a pleasing and refreshing experience. Every time, I come home with lovely portraits that enrich my portfolio. However, beyond the photographer, a wedding on the beach is an experience to remember for both bride and groom and the guests present. Among the many venues available for celebrations on the beach, the Beach Club in Forte dei Marmi is worth a special mention. It is a modern seaside resort that overlooks the golden sands of Tuscany. Among its main features, besides the swimming pool and a fabulous restaurant, the chance to arrange any event and wedding. The environment is multi-purpose, and can be set according to your taste. The exteriors in travertine and the clean appearance of the building make it very classy, perfect for any photo shoot! It was a pleasure to photograph Petra in this seaside resort. Romantic San Gimignano Wedding

San Gimignano is one of the most popular destinations for Tuscany for weddings and honeymoons. Its towers, surrounded by hills and cypress trees, are one of the most famous icons of Tuscany in the world. San Gimignano is quite crowded with tourists throughout the year. The stone streets with typical shops, the atmosphere of the country village and the smell of food through the narrow streets leave an unforgettable memory in the hearts of those who visit it. Nearby, nature shows its best. Here you can see the most beautiful sunsets of the entire Chianti area. The hills and dusty roads, lined with cypress trees on the sides, are the perfect backgrounds for great photo shoots. Once I offered to take the wedding portraits here, Claudia and Allan have not felt the need to think twice, and just said yes. These two cute young Brazilians got married in their home country.… read more...

Now Larimar Punta Cana Wedding

I met these two young Canadians for the first time on the occasion of the wedding proposal in the Cinque Terre. I helped Barry during the planning, and I was there when he asked Jessica to marry him. A wonderful day that I still remember with emotion. So when I was invited to photograph their wedding in the Caribbean, I did not think twice, and I just said yes. Exactly as I don’t refuse an invitation to dinner with our loved ones, for no reason at all I would have missed Barry and Jessica’s marriage. The location of the wedding is the Now Larimar in Punta Cana. The resort, which overlooks the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea, is located in the Dominican Republic, and is surrounded by palm trees, white sand and lush gardens. A real feast for the eyes! As soon as I arrived, I immediately realised that it was the perfect place for breathtaking wedding photos.… read more...

Conti di San Bonifacio Wedding

Conti di San Bonifacio is undoubtedly one of the most attractive wedding venues of Tuscany. You never stop wondering! When I thought I had seen the nicest places there, here comes the chance to work in this incredible estate in the Maremma. This Conti di San Bonifacio Wedding is worth to be told! But first things first. Conti di San Bonifacio is a wine resort located in Gavorrano, in the province of Grosseto. The area is the wildest and unspoilt of Tuscany: the paradise of every photographer. Fields in bloom and orderly vineyards accompany me along the journey on deserted roads. A gate out of nowhere welcomes me; the road begins to climb and, at last, I am in front of the impressive facade of the structure. A large arched wooden door is before my eyes. Above it, the skeleton of the head of a buffalo. I am suddenly aware that one of the strengths of the Conti di  San Bonifacio is the position.… read more...

What about this Forte Dei Marmi Beach Wedding? If this was not the perfect marriage, we need to revise the definition of wedding. Thanks to a beautiful couple of spouses, a fairytale locations and a staff living up to the occasion. But first things first. The bride and the groom have decided to get married on a warm Saturday in mid-September in Versilia, where they’ve been living and working for years. Like many other couples, they wanted a religious ceremony in a beautiful church and reception on the beach, to enjoy the appeal of a romantic sunset over the sea. The church they chose was Pieve di Valdicastello, on the old Via Francigena, in Pietrasanta. A church that has literally stolen my heart. Small, entirely built with tuff and marble,  it is one of the brightest I’ve ever seen. The Beach Resort Francomare was the place where the couple received their guests.… read more...

Fashionable Florence Engagement Session

Alexandra is one of those girls who, the moment you see them- bang!- she strike you right in the heart with their disarming beauty and cheerfulness. Florentines know it well, because, during a warm afternoon of May, they have stared at her while she was walking on the cobblestones of the city, close to her future husband. What to say about Jay, her groom to be? I met a handsome dark-haired,  tall and elegant man who didn’t leave neutral the women walking in the centre of Florence. But let’s step back. In Spring I received an email from two young New-Yorkers, Alexandra and Jay, who had decided to leave the Big Apple to exchange their eternal vows here in Tuscany, on the mild hills of the Florentine countryside. They also wanted me to take their engagement photos so that I could know each other better and get some memories of their holidays in Tuscany.… read more...

Venice Pre Wedding Photo shoot

What could be more romantic than your treasured Venice pre wedding photo shoot being taken amongst a backdrop of Venice’s famous canals and bridges? Why not tell the story of a couple from Singapore, who chose, out of all of the beautiful destinations in Europe and the rest of the world, the Italian lagoon, Venice, for their pre-wedding photo shoot? Maybe it is because Venice is unique? Or maybe it is because Venice offers incredible scenery for wedding photos? When couples ask me to take their wedding photographs in Venice, I always feel euphoric. Amongst many photographers in the world, thankfully I have had the chance to work in a range of fairy-tale venues. Just think about Tuscany, which is usually my battlefield. However, sometimes customers call me with a request to take their photographs in Venice. Between the engagement sessions, marriage proposals and even family portraits, during the last few years I have had more and more requests for pre-wedding sessions in the most beautiful location in Italy.… read more...
