Working with Ilaria Menichetti of Ilaria di Glam Events, a wedding and events planner in Tuscany, is always a pleasure. Every time we are called for a photo shoot, we are happy to accept. Besides being a very good wedding planner, Ilaria is excellent at finding the most romantic places for her clients to hold their ceremony. She seems continually capable of finding enchanting surroundings and dreamlike atmospheres for weddings to take place. Since the start of the 2011 wedding season is upon us, we asked Ilaria her opinion of what the upcoming trends and fashions of the new year will be. As a wedding photographer I am obviously quite intrigued.
“We are seeing an increase in requests for beach weddings in Versilia and Viareggio. Instead of the traditional dinner in the garden of a country villa or the courtyard of a medieval castle, more couples are beginning to prefer a trendy cocktail dinner on the beach.… read more...
If I were to get married again, I would seriously consider Lerici as my wedding location. This stretch of the Ligurian coast is as beautiful as little known. Frequented mainly by locals, it is one of the loveliest areas where to celebrate a seaside celebration.
The bride and the groom, from the cold Russia, have chosen Lerici among the many wedding locations of Liguria. In addition to the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea, it’s been the typically Italian atmosphere that brought them here. For example, the colourful houses near the harbour, the perched castle, rustic taverns and cafes overlooking the square, the rowdy fishermen who sell fresh seafood directly on the market stalls. A lovely atmosphere! They got dressed up in a private inn in Fiascherino, surrounded by their families and close friends.
The couple portraits were taken in the morning in the center of Lerici. After the first pictures, with boats and blue water as a background, we climbed the small fishing village up to the castle, on the top of the village.… read more...

Be honest – have you ever dreamed of planning a wedding on a beach in Italy?
How about on a hill in surrounded by your friends and family? Perhaps your dream is to exchange the rings in the middle of a lush green field or in a courtyard of a castle. Whatever your specific wedding fantasy is, you will surely find useful ideas from our interview with Jo Bertolino of Tuscan Pledges, a celebrant and a translator who knows Italian and English.
We first met during a photo shoot in Florence. I remember what immediately struck me about her, which was her kindness and sociability. As a wedding photographer in Tuscany, I must admit I had never heard of the need to hire a celebrant that was also a translator, but I have since seen the importance of it when a couple of foreigners plan their wedding to take place in Italy.… read more...
When Eva and Silvio decided to get married in Forte dei Marmi, they should have thought of all the great summer holidays spent in Versilia with their families during youth. A story familiar to many people from Milan, who always remain tied to this part of the Italian coast.

Built in 1869 as a hunting lodge, Villa Orlando overlooks Lake Massaciuccoli in Torre del Lago (Lucca).
And it is its location that makes this place special. Peace and silence that reign on the lakefront (150 meters are for the exclusive use of the property) and the magnificence of the ancient structure create a timeless, relaxed and charming atmosphere.
Immersed in a beautiful park full of greenery the Villa also has a small dock, really beautiful, with views over the entire lake.

I hate the idea of putting my feet in the sand during my wedding.
With this sentence, followed by a cold gaze, the groom-to-be dismissed all my proposals for the organisation of his wedding reception in Versilia. I care for my guests, and I don’t want them to ruin the shoes, or worse to take them off, in order to enjoy a drink on the seashore.
A beach wedding is a romantic and exciting idea, but it might present many logistical difficulties as well. For instance, what happens if it rains or if it’s cold? Besides this, as the groom has said, not everyone is excited about taking off the shoes and enjoying cocktails or dinner on the sand. Respect for the guests comes first, and he had hit the problem straight on.
I understood his point of view immediately. And although I was trying to make a good impression, as he was marrying one of my most beautiful and unique friends, I had to bite the bullet and admit that he was right.… read more...
Many people think that the photographs of the wedding are only static images and quite often gone out of fashion. My goal is to destroy this myth and take my wedding photos in a completely different way.
I always try to live all the love that’s in the couple and this is mostly visible from their spontaneous and natural gestures. Also, I want that the bride looks like a real model on the magazines.
I do my best because every single photograph returns the memory of a special day.
I’m lucky because Italy is a great place to live. For what concerns the photography, there are soooo many spots for taking lovely pictures here!! For instance, Venice has the canals, of course, so if you’re looking for some images around the water, that might be your best choice. Talk with your photographer to get great tips for your wedding pictures, no matter what Italian city you choose.… read more...
