Villa Grabau is a beautiful historic villa in the area of Lucca, and it dates back to the Renaissance period. Be guided by an expert photographer to discover the best spots for Villa Grabau Weddings!
The real flagship of this building is, without doubt, its limonaia. Villa Grabau’s Limonaia is a majestic building, with seven big wooden main doors, that open on a large interior where a built-in gracious fountain is placed.
This extremely charming building is at disposal of the couples to organize the best Lucca Weddings, not only: every year concerts, meetings and other kinds of events take place here.
The villa has a perfect architecture in neo-classic style and is surrounded by a wonderful 9-hectares park to which you can access through a wrought iron gate, decorated on its sides with rustic mosaics.
For those who would like to have both ceremony and party in the same location, Villa Grabau gives the chance to celebrate the civil ritual on the inside of the building, or outdoor in the big beautiful garden.
In summer, a little courtyard of the park is set for the function and we can assure you that there’s nothing more romantic than exchanging the eternal “yes, I will” surrounded by this bucolic air.
Villa Grabau is fantastic also for the photos: even alone it should deserve a service, but when it’s walked through by a loving couple it shows its best charm. There’s nothing more beautiful than picturing a wedding couple while they’re walking through the park holding hands, smiling and laughing on the gracious stone benches, or while they’re wandering around the majestic fountain behind the main building exchanging tender glances. Your wedding album cannot but be fantastic: a real triumph of grace, love and nature.
See you in Tuscany! Is there anything more beautiful to say to friends and families scattered around the world?
He European, she Asian, living and working in London. During a holiday in Italy, they fell in love with the town of Lucca and its villas. In particular, Villa Grabau, which quickly became the venue of their wedding. The villa is located in the countryside near Lucca, surrounded by green vegetation. Reachable in a few minute drive from the centre of the Tuscan city, it is one of the most appreciated locations, thanks to the fabulous gardens and the limonaia, the winter garden.
The bride got ready in one of the houses of the property, surrounded by her closest friends. She chose to meet the groom in private, along the path leading to the altar, to spend some time with him before the ceremony. The symbolic service took place in the magnificent central garden, in front of the grand facade of the villa.… read more...
“With all the time I had to devote to the organization, before leaving my husband I will think about it at least 100 times!”
That said a bride when I asked for clarification about her civil wedding in Italy. But first things first.
A couple who wants to get married with a civil ceremony in Italy has two options:
Arranging a civil ceremony in the country of origin and a symbolic ceremony in Italy;
Arranging a civil ceremony directly in Italy, in the halls of the municipalities or in the beautiful villas, if the municipality allows it.
This last solution is undoubtedly the most difficult.
Organizing a symbolic ceremony is extremely easy: once you find the celebrant, you simply need to agree on the type of ritual and timing.
The civil wedding in Italy is valid worldwide, but organizing it means having to do with the endless Italian bureaucracy.Celebrating the rite in a garden, surely pays back your efforts.… read more...
Choosing the venue for the wedding is something that shouldn’t be taken lightly. Everything has to come perfectly together: the church, the caterers, and even the makeup. Therefore, you should put some thoughts into where you are going to exchange your vows and host the celebration afterwards. And if you’re considering a destination wedding in Italy, this might be very tough
During the weddings of the past seasons, I have visited many lovely locations and venues where to get married in Lucca. Thanks to the 99 churches and numerous backdrops for fabulous wedding photos, it’s not a surprise that Lucca is getting very popular for international weddings in Italy.

David and Zhaleh’s wedding was celebrated in one of the most beautiful villas of Tuscany. The civil ceremony took place inside the garden of Villa Grabau, near Lucca, in a park with old trees surrounded by the tranquility of the Tuscan countryside.
This British couple, who have been living in Australia for several years now, had the opportunity to crown their dream in front of friends and family, some of whom they hadn’t seen for a long time.
The preparation of the bride took place in Villa Pitti Amerighi, in Montecatini Terme. Here, a fantastic vintage Mercedes 180 SL picked her up and she was taken her directly to the ceremony.

Maybe you don’t know that Tuscany is very rich in churches. Whether they are Romanesque, Baroque or modern, most of them are ideal for moving and touching ceremonies, in a setting full of charm and history. The same cannot be said for civil ceremonies. The rite of the civil wedding is short, cold and unexciting. The setting where it takes place, which usually is the town hall, is unattractive.
Who doesn’t dream a civil wedding on a beach, with the sound of the waves in the background? Or in a garden of a grand Italian villa with relatives and friends? Although some town halls of Tuscany are kept in an excellent way, wouldn’t be nicer to have a civil service outdoors?
Since a few years, you can have civil ceremonies in unique places, such the gardens of the most beautiful historical villas of Tuscany.

If you talk with Italian people about getting married in a garden, they look at you strangely. This is because of the Catholic religion, rooted in the culture of these warm Mediterranean people. For Italians, in fact, the church is the place where the wedding has to be celebrated.
Even if they do not consider themselves so, they are very conservative and, especially for an important event such as a wedding; they want the solemnity of a beautiful church to mark the wedding covenant. But they’re missing soooo many lovely places to arrange ceremonies and rites.
Garden weddings in Lucca
However, I love garden weddings in Lucca. I love listening to the sounds of nature that blend in with the sob of the parents and the spouses, excited during the ceremony. I like the noise water makes in the fountains and the intense and penetrating scent of the undergrowth.

Tuscany offers to whom decide to get married here stunning venues to celebrate the wedding. As wedding photographers, we cannot help but recall, among these, Florence, Siena, Lucca, but also the area of Chianti and Versilia.
Off the beaten touristic and more noble sites, there are little-known villas and historic venues in celebrating the wedding will be a unique experience for you and your guests!
All these locations have:
a place to celebrate the symbolic or civil ceremony
accommodations within the property or very close
many areas for the receptions
gorgeous backgrounds for the photo shoots
rain cover in case of bad weather
The rain cover is an essential factor in choosing a villa or a castle for the wedding. A lot of times, even in beautiful villas, bride and groom have to rent tensile structures that ruin the aesthetics of the venue. In fact, all these places have indoor areas.… read more...
