Here are some readings (plus beautiful photos) you might enjoy:
The Chianti area, in Tuscany, is one of the most enchanting for any photo shoot. The cinema has often used these beautiful sceneries for memorable movies. Among many, I remember well Under the Tuscan Sun, or Letters to Juliet. It’s no surprise then that many couples in love choose the landscapes of the Chianti area for their engagement session.
A year wouldn’t be enough to photograph all the wonders of this area. Along the ancient road that leads from Florence to Siena, it is a continuous up and down between the hills yellowed by the sun. Several dirt roads lined with cypress trees peep through the vegetation, getting lost beyond the horizon. Many of these could be the ideal set for numerous love stories, but all lovers of the world would not be enough to shoot all the gorgeous spots of the area.
One of the most beautiful couples of this year took the opportunity of a family trip to be happily portrayed during an engagement session in Chianti.… read more...
The Castello di Casole is a masterpiece. It is the venue that Lupe and Jose, our protagonists today, chose for the photographs of their engagement session.
It is located in the province of Siena, in southern Tuscany. The area is almost entirely untouched by human intervention. Coming here I’ve met very few cars; miles and miles of roads surrounded by fields and rolling hills scorched by the heat of August.I realise that this is an ideal place for exploring Tuscany. I am just a few minutes away from the beautiful Abbey of San Galgano and the centre of Siena. In 40 minutes I can be in the heart of Florence, and going the other way, on the golden beaches of the Maremma.
The colours of early autumn are beautiful: a palette from yellow to brown, mottled by the dull green of the cypresses and vineyards heavy with grapes ready to be harvested.Once arrived, I realised that the castle, in fact, is not here.… read more...
An engagement session in Florence is always a good excuse to enjoy a few relaxing days in the capital of Tuscany. The beauty of the town, good food, art, fancy boutiques are just a few good reasons to spend some days in Florence. And maybe to have your pictures taken by a photographer!
The couple of the day had one more reason for the images. These two cute British guys are getting married next year in Tuscany and, for their engagement photos, they have chosen Florence. It was a pleasure to guide and portray them in some of the most fascinating spots in the town. We walked through the streets of the old centre, among Renaissance statues and marvellous backgrounds for photos. I took the opportunity to show them the hidden wonders of the Tuscan capital.
The day was sunny and the climate perfect for light clothing. She wore a beautiful pair of red-soled Louboutin, perfectly in tune with the sweater and the mood of the engagement photographs.… read more...
When photography has been a passion for many years, when it is part of you and you cannot think of yourself without it, it is hard to say “pause” and do without it.
Two photographers as us always have a camera with themselves, whatever the type, its shape, its color, we never leave without it. Hence places, people and atmosphere come through the lens, not only for work but for sheer pleasure.
A pleasure that manifests itself whenever it is possible, the infinite charm of the world which wants to imprint itself forever in our memories.
Precious moments of common life, happy moments of a new family, like ours, that could not exist without photography.
Photography helped us meet, thanks to it we always keep on meeting each other and for it we often labor, we sweat and get tired, for it we smile and feel proud, for it that is always right and never gets boring.… read more...
Among the most loved landscapes for an Italian style wedding, you’ll surely find the amazing lakes of the North. From the Lake of Como, made eternal by Manzoni’s words, to the Lake of Garda or the Lake Maggiore.
Moreover, there are lovely villas with private lakes in Tuscany as well. For instance, Villa Orlando is one of the best wedding venues in the area of Lucca, overlooking the lake with direct access to it.
If you are thinking of a lake for your photo session, you certainly have many choices. The areas surrounding these places have an exceptional beauty: broad sceneries exalting the lacustrine screen that reflects the blue of the Italian sky.
The towns all around offer a rich and fascinating historical slice: Como, Varese, Garda and more. There are a lot of hotels and villas which can host top quality weddings and events. Many of them have extensive gardens provided to celebrate civil ceremonies.… read more...
A photo shoot in Chianti is an experience to try at least once in a lifetime. Among the many fascinating places in Italy, the Chianti area is one of the most impressive and well-known.
In late August, nature is at its best. The light is soft, warm and cosy, perfect for intimate portraits. The colours of nature become yellow then turn copper-colored, making the landscapes even more breathtaking. Sunsets are unforgettable.
This couple must have thought about this when they decided to take their photographs in the yellowed rolling hills of Chianti. Or maybe they just took advantage of the photo shoot to spend a few days of relaxation and culture in this part of Tuscany.
Their engagement photo shoot took place around Certaldo and San Gimignano, in one of the lesser known regions of Tuscany. The bride and groom to be posed between enchanted villages and fabulous landscapes, that inspired the painters of the Renaissance.… read more...
Alexandra is one of those girls who, the moment you see them- bang!- she strike you right in the heart with their disarming beauty and cheerfulness. Florentines know it well, because, during a warm afternoon of May, they have stared at her while she was walking on the cobblestones of the city, close to her future husband. What to say about Jay, her groom to be? I met a handsome dark-haired, tall and elegant man who didn’t leave neutral the women walking in the centre of Florence. But let’s step back.
In Spring I received an email from two young New-Yorkers, Alexandra and Jay, who had decided to leave the Big Apple to exchange their eternal vows here in Tuscany, on the mild hills of the Florentine countryside. They also wanted me to take their engagement photos so that I could know each other better and get some memories of their holidays in Tuscany.… read more...
Tuscany in autumn is one of the most charming areas of Italy. The hills and the landscapes are tinged with red, the leaves quickly turn yellow, and everything becomes more melancholy. The bride and the groom to be couldn’t know it; even if they‘ll get married next year in this area, they had never visited Tuscany in this period. Creating some couple portraits in this season is undoubtedly a winning choice.
The engagement session took place on the outskirts of San Gimignano. In the earlier days, it had rained a lot, and this made the colours even more impressive than usual.
I took so many couple photos while they walked along the dusty roads of the area, with cypress trees watching over them, and a few images with the fabulous view of the Chianti area in the background.
Even though we only met on the same day, it was nice to spend some time together with this friendly English couple.… read more...

I was born here, in Tuscany, among the fields, the hills and the sky.
Until my first day of school, I had the good fortune to live in the country. I have always lived nature and earth as my natural habitat, where I have always felt comfortable.
Probably that’s why my most beautiful pictures are the ones I took among the hills and the hamlets in Tuscany.
Tuscany offers me everything I need to take perfectly my photos.
Especially for engagement, pre-wedding and honeymoon sessions, where I’m free from the tight deadlines of weddings, free to design and create situations that I like the most.
My clients, who come here from all over the world, ask me about environment- surrounded portraits to take home.
What are the best scenarios for photo shoots in Tuscany?
The hills are the icon of Tuscany in the world. I cannot make a photo shoot without a photo of the couple in front of a backdrop of hills at sunset.… read more...
Venice has always been the city of lovers. Hundreds of couples celebrate their weddings here; others choose Venice for their honeymoon or romantic holidays. In addition to this, Venice is the perfect city for exciting photo shoots. So why not combine things? Under the guise of a romantic holiday, more and more people in love catch the opportunity of a trip to Italy for a pre wedding Venice.
Anning and Victor have contacted me because they wanted spontaneous and glamorous pre wedding photos through the streets of Venice a few months before the marriage. During the last years, more and more couples have come from abroad to take this type of pictures. For those who live in America and Asia, Italy is one of the most popular destinations for pre-weddings. Be honest: what can be more romantic than portraits of the couple in love at sunset on the streets and sights of Venice?… read more...
We had left them carefree and beautiful on their wedding day. Now, a few months later, we find them even happier on a beautiful day in early June for a new photo shoot.
The couple of the day got married almost a year ago in Pistoia. Although they were initially interested in an engagement session before the wedding, they had such a busy schedule that it wasn’t possible.
I ask them to switch to a honeymoon photo shoot in Tuscany. A service often required by couples from all over the world who we meet in Tuscany during their honeymoon. Married couples from Singapore, Los Angeles, and from the biggest capitals of Asia and America contact me for a photo shoot in the most beautiful cities of Europe. Often these services take place in the towns like Venice or Florence; for these newlyweds, I chose a more intimate location, away from prying eyes, to spend some time relaxing in the countryside of Tuscany.… read more...
Many lovers from around the world, often local, but also American and Asian, choose Tuscany as the location of their engagement session. What is it exactly? Photographer and subjects decide together a location and a theme for the pictures and then take nice portraits in the most beautiful spots in the region. This session may be just an opportunity to stop time and be celebrated in a particular moment of life. A snapshot of the path of a family.
Over the years, the engagement session in Tuscany has become for me an opportunity to break the routine of weddings. Spending some time with the couple before the big day let me know them better. I take this opportunity to understand their expectations and their dreams on their best day, to explain in detail how I will work during their wedding, to make sure they get used to my presence and that of the camera.… read more...
When I ask couples where to take engagement pictures, they always let me recommend some excellent locations for intimate and casual portraits.
It is not easy to choose the best places for engagement shoots. It depends on many factors: for instance, where you met, or a special place in your heart or the colour you want to give to the shoot. First, I try to interpret the personality of the subjects: finding the mood athat suits your needs is essential.
I’m still talking about real couples, people who almost certainly never have posed in front of a camera. You might be embarrassed or under pressure. However, at the same time, you dream beautiful photos. I understand your concerns!
Now I have realised that the best locations for engagement sessions are in the wilderness and unspoilt nature. A gorgeous forest, the paved roads of the hills, big trees, the light passing through the green leaves, a daydream!… read more...
The places of my childhood are among those that I will carry in my heart for a lifetime. That’s why the mountain and its colors are my natural environment.
Every time is always the same: once reached the destination, I get out of the car, I take a deep breath and I feel at home. I was born here, where life is two months a year: July and August. I’ve always loved September and October, when the last tourists leave and come the mists, the atmosphere, the colors and the cold.
There is no scientific evidence, but I like to think that my body and my soul have never completely disconnected from the places of my childhood, the ones of which I have the most beautiful memories. And even though I live in the another area of Tuscany, it is always a pleasure to come back and get the feel of home again.… read more...
Girls living in Eastern Europe call it Love Story in Tuscany. It is a sort of engagement session to do after the wedding, with calm, once the excitement of the event has faded and the things to do are finally over. Almost a honeymoon session, but with a typically romantic flavour. A snapshot of the life of the couple, in their happiest moment. An opportunity to meet again two people who have remained in my heart, after almost a year from their beautiful wedding.
However you want to call it, Tuscany is the perfect place to take pictures. It is a dream to plough dirt roads and yellowed hills walking with the love of your life, under the warm sun of September. There are plenty of spots in this region, and picking one is not easy. I needed a private place, quiet and beautiful; these two guys had spent nearly three hours to reach me from Milan, and everything had to put them at ease!… read more...

On its beaches, hundreds of young people meet and fall in love with each other, they become couples and take a sweet summer memory forever with them. So why not use this chance to take some couple’s pictures and celebrate this moment in life?

You surely have already heard about this before! If you are familiar with wedding photographers or photography enthusiasts, you already know in depth what I’m talking about.
Imported a few years ago from the US, the engagement session is nothing more than a photo shoot that takes place sometime before the wedding. The goal is taking lovely couple portraits to celebrate that special moment before the wedding, when the couple is deeply in love and excited!
There are many benefits of taking engagement pictures. They can be done almost anywhere and anytime. On the other hand, it is the first and most important way to establish a relationship between the couple and the wedding photographer, which can understand the expectations, the desires, and the feelings of the couple.
It’s always nice to meet new couples in love, know where they met and fell in love with each other, what are their dreams and how they feel in front of the camera.… read more...
Siena is certainly one of the most magical cities of Tuscany.
That holds in itself everything that a couple may be searching for their wedding photo book. Yes, because Siena can be both ancient and modern even in a small place, offering unique photographic glimpses, untraceable in any other place, that also make unique the newlyweds photo shoot.
Siena is art, history and breathtaking views. The ancient city, home of the famous Palio, offers a stay plunged in the Italian culture, all the surroundings are a wonderful rustic setting to relax.
You can stroll through the streets of center, visit the beautiful Duomo and get ice cream in the Piazza del Campo. You can visit the beautiful hills that surround this pearl of Tuscany, traveling on a vintage 500 for the Val di Merse and Val d’Orcia. You can stop and drink a good Chianti and enjoy the beauty that nature and history have given to Siena.… read more...
Today I post a unique Tuscany Engagement Session. The location is my beloved Lucca, already background for many photo shoots, but the couple of the day is special. The bride and the groom to be, in fact, are dear friends of mine, and they will get married in September, in a beautiful Villa close to Montecatini Terme. For these shots, I wanted nature as background, with its predominant green and a familiar and intimate atmosphere.
Tuscany, in this, is unbeatable and I have found in Montecarlo di Lucca what I was looking for; large trees, dirt roads, silence and warm light: in a few words, the best setting for my most romantic shots.
Montecarlo is perched on a hill between Lucca and Montecatini Terme, an area famous for producing excellent wine and extra-virgin olive oil. Its territory is crossed by the wine tourism route created in 1999 which attracts many tourists and lovers of good food.… read more...
