The Chianti area, in Tuscany, is one of the most enchanting for any photo shoot. The cinema has often used these beautiful sceneries for memorable movies. Among many, I remember well Under the Tuscan Sun, or Letters to Juliet. It’s no surprise then that many couples in love choose the landscapes of the Chianti area for their engagement session.
A year wouldn’t be enough to photograph all the wonders of this area. Along the ancient road that leads from Florence to Siena, it is a continuous up and down between the hills yellowed by the sun. Several dirt roads lined with cypress trees peep through the vegetation, getting lost beyond the horizon. Many of these could be the ideal set for numerous love stories, but all lovers of the world would not be enough to shoot all the gorgeous spots of the area.
One of the most beautiful couples of this year took the opportunity of a family trip to be happily portrayed during an engagement session in Chianti.… read more...
Alexandra is one of those girls who, the moment you see them- bang!- she strike you right in the heart with their disarming beauty and cheerfulness. Florentines know it well, because, during a warm afternoon of May, they have stared at her while she was walking on the cobblestones of the city, close to her future husband. What to say about Jay, her groom to be? I met a handsome dark-haired, tall and elegant man who didn’t leave neutral the women walking in the centre of Florence. But let’s step back.
In Spring I received an email from two young New-Yorkers, Alexandra and Jay, who had decided to leave the Big Apple to exchange their eternal vows here in Tuscany, on the mild hills of the Florentine countryside. They also wanted me to take their engagement photos so that I could know each other better and get some memories of their holidays in Tuscany.… read more...

What to wear
Many of the best designers in the world are Italian, so keep in mind that elegance is always welcome here. Clothing depends on your taste, but you should always consider your partner’s outfit and look for the best possible combination.

Tell me the truth! Looking at this Florence Pre Wedding, wouldn’t you like to be in this couple’s shoes? Wouldn’t you like to be portrayed as you walk with the love of your life through the most beautiful streets and squares of the Tuscan city?
I was born and raised two steps away from Florence and, although I admire this beauty ever since I was a kid, every time I am still impressed by the beauty of the Tuscan city. If this happens to me, I can understand the wonder that I see in the eyes of millions of tourists and lovers who flock to Ponte Vecchio, Piazza Della Signoria and Piazzale Michelangelo.
These two guys are among them. Although they’d never been here, they have chosen Florence for their pre-wedding photos. What is it about? In the Asian tradition, engaged couples pose for pictures in the most beautiful cities in the world, including London and Venice.… read more...
It was one of the most exhausting things I’ve ever done. In fact, if I had to restart looking for the best Tuscany venue for my wedding, I probably would give up getting married.
Jokes apart, there are so many beautiful locations to choose from and it is not easy to select the most beautiful from the outside, looking at the website or through the reviews of other brides.
I realize that choosing the villa where to organize ceremony and reception is not easy even for us Italians. I can’t imagine how hard it is for those coming from outside who don’t know the territory. Finding a suitable place for both the event and the staying is impossible if you don’t have a contact on the territory.
The best Tuscany Venues
I remember very well that, when planning my wedding, I visited dozens of locations, but none of them seemed to satisfy my demands and those of my future wife.… read more...
A photo shoot in Chianti is an experience to try at least once in a lifetime. Among the many fascinating places in Italy, the Chianti area is one of the most impressive and well-known.
In late August, nature is at its best. The light is soft, warm and cosy, perfect for intimate portraits. The colours of nature become yellow then turn copper-colored, making the landscapes even more breathtaking. Sunsets are unforgettable.
This couple must have thought about this when they decided to take their photographs in the yellowed rolling hills of Chianti. Or maybe they just took advantage of the photo shoot to spend a few days of relaxation and culture in this part of Tuscany.
Their engagement photo shoot took place around Certaldo and San Gimignano, in one of the lesser known regions of Tuscany. The bride and groom to be posed between enchanted villages and fabulous landscapes, that inspired the painters of the Renaissance.… read more...
What could be more romantic than your treasured Venice pre wedding photo shoot being taken amongst a backdrop of Venice’s famous canals and bridges? Why not tell the story of a couple from Singapore, who chose, out of all of the beautiful destinations in Europe and the rest of the world, the Italian lagoon, Venice, for their pre-wedding photo shoot? Maybe it is because Venice is unique? Or maybe it is because Venice offers incredible scenery for wedding photos?
When couples ask me to take their wedding photographs in Venice, I always feel euphoric. Amongst many photographers in the world, thankfully I have had the chance to work in a range of fairy-tale venues. Just think about Tuscany, which is usually my battlefield. However, sometimes customers call me with a request to take their photographs in Venice. Between the engagement sessions, marriage proposals and even family portraits, during the last few years I have had more and more requests for pre-wedding sessions in the most beautiful location in Italy.… read more...

You surely have already heard about this before! If you are familiar with wedding photographers or photography enthusiasts, you already know in depth what I’m talking about.
Imported a few years ago from the US, the engagement session is nothing more than a photo shoot that takes place sometime before the wedding. The goal is taking lovely couple portraits to celebrate that special moment before the wedding, when the couple is deeply in love and excited!
There are many benefits of taking engagement pictures. They can be done almost anywhere and anytime. On the other hand, it is the first and most important way to establish a relationship between the couple and the wedding photographer, which can understand the expectations, the desires, and the feelings of the couple.
It’s always nice to meet new couples in love, know where they met and fell in love with each other, what are their dreams and how they feel in front of the camera.… read more...
When photography has been a passion for many years, when it is part of you and you cannot think of yourself without it, it is hard to say “pause” and do without it.
Two photographers as us always have a camera with themselves, whatever the type, its shape, its color, we never leave without it. Hence places, people and atmosphere come through the lens, not only for work but for sheer pleasure.
A pleasure that manifests itself whenever it is possible, the infinite charm of the world which wants to imprint itself forever in our memories.
Precious moments of common life, happy moments of a new family, like ours, that could not exist without photography.
Photography helped us meet, thanks to it we always keep on meeting each other and for it we often labor, we sweat and get tired, for it we smile and feel proud, for it that is always right and never gets boring.… read more...
Girls living in Eastern Europe call it Love Story in Tuscany. It is a sort of engagement session to do after the wedding, with calm, once the excitement of the event has faded and the things to do are finally over. Almost a honeymoon session, but with a typically romantic flavour. A snapshot of the life of the couple, in their happiest moment. An opportunity to meet again two people who have remained in my heart, after almost a year from their beautiful wedding.
However you want to call it, Tuscany is the perfect place to take pictures. It is a dream to plough dirt roads and yellowed hills walking with the love of your life, under the warm sun of September. There are plenty of spots in this region, and picking one is not easy. I needed a private place, quiet and beautiful; these two guys had spent nearly three hours to reach me from Milan, and everything had to put them at ease!… read more...
We had left them carefree and beautiful on their wedding day. Now, a few months later, we find them even happier on a beautiful day in early June for a new photo shoot.
The couple of the day got married almost a year ago in Pistoia. Although they were initially interested in an engagement session before the wedding, they had such a busy schedule that it wasn’t possible.
I ask them to switch to a honeymoon photo shoot in Tuscany. A service often required by couples from all over the world who we meet in Tuscany during their honeymoon. Married couples from Singapore, Los Angeles, and from the biggest capitals of Asia and America contact me for a photo shoot in the most beautiful cities of Europe. Often these services take place in the towns like Venice or Florence; for these newlyweds, I chose a more intimate location, away from prying eyes, to spend some time relaxing in the countryside of Tuscany.… read more...
There’s nothing better than looking at a photo album to relive the emotions of the past. The pages of a photo book tell about years and unrepeatable moments lived to the full. The purpose of photography is just that: to capture a second, an emotion, a situation. The anniversary photo shoot is, therefore, a way to stop time after marriage. A way to take stock of the circumstances, to see the path taken, how the family is evolving. But above all, it is a way to get many well-done portraits, taken by a professional photographer, in the most charming places in the world.
This is what this couple must have thought, as they chose Cortona for their anniversary photo shoot. This beautiful little village in the province of Arezzo became famous after Under the Tuscan Sun, a book written by Frances Mayes, which was followed by a film that has become even more popular in 2003.… read more...
I like to recommend to couples who contact me the best locations for extraordinary photographs. The whole Europe is certainly plenty of beautiful cities and places that allow you to create elegant and timeless wedding photographs.
Couples wanting a portrait photo session are often looking for cities in Europe that can be the perfect backdrop to their shots, from Florence to Tuscany, from Paris to Athens.
There is a city that I particularly like and that, each time, gives me glimpses and different views, colors and unique sensations, lively atmosphere and romance. A groundbreaking city, strong for an extraordinary past, London.
Among the many reasons why a couple should choose London as the location for its images of elopement, pre-wedding, honeymoon or engagement there are definitely:
The historical charm of the city: the monuments, squares, large hotels and the English wealth are certainly a significant presence in the aesthetics of the city that make it perfect for classic and austere, timeless images.… read more...

The Castello di Casole is a masterpiece. It is the venue that Lupe and Jose, our protagonists today, chose for the photographs of their engagement session.
It is located in the province of Siena, in southern Tuscany. The area is almost entirely untouched by human intervention. Coming here I’ve met very few cars; miles and miles of roads surrounded by fields and rolling hills scorched by the heat of August.I realise that this is an ideal place for exploring Tuscany. I am just a few minutes away from the beautiful Abbey of San Galgano and the centre of Siena. In 40 minutes I can be in the heart of Florence, and going the other way, on the golden beaches of the Maremma.
The colours of early autumn are beautiful: a palette from yellow to brown, mottled by the dull green of the cypresses and vineyards heavy with grapes ready to be harvested.Once arrived, I realised that the castle, in fact, is not here.… read more...
The fabulous villages of the Cinque Terre are among the most exciting places to capture pre-wedding photos. Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Monterosso and Vernazza attract couples from every part of the world each year. Some of them decide to spend here a few days for relaxation, good food and hikes. But not only: some organise fabulous wedding proposals, others romantic elopements with their loved one. It’s not a secret that the Cinque Terre are among the most beautiful locations where to get married. And even if you are not a groom or a bride-to-be, the villages are ideal for engagement sessions and pre-weddings as well!
Today’s couple, from far away Hong Kong, decided to be portrayed here, relying on a photographer to find the best spots and go home with memorable shots. I asked them to stroll through the narrow streets of Vernazza and Manarola, exchanging caresses and kisses. Under the warm spring sun, this couple let me capture intimate and intense portraits, among the most impressive of the year, before a fabulous sunset over the sea.… read more...
San Gimignano is one of the most popular destinations for Tuscany for weddings and honeymoons. Its towers, surrounded by hills and cypress trees, are one of the most famous icons of Tuscany in the world. San Gimignano is quite crowded with tourists throughout the year. The stone streets with typical shops, the atmosphere of the country village and the smell of food through the narrow streets leave an unforgettable memory in the hearts of those who visit it.
Nearby, nature shows its best. Here you can see the most beautiful sunsets of the entire Chianti area. The hills and dusty roads, lined with cypress trees on the sides, are the perfect backgrounds for great photo shoots.
Once I offered to take the wedding portraits here, Claudia and Allan have not felt the need to think twice, and just said yes.

Do you dream a wedding in Venice, but you have a limited budget? The solution now exists, and it is called Elopement.
I know how important the budget is when planning a wedding. Often the bride’s dreams are not cheap and giving up something seems impossible. Every bride wants a dream location, a precious dress and an unforgettable ceremony.
If your dream is then set in a distant place, we understand that your budget should be high, because you might also consider the accommodations of all of your guests. But if your budget for the wedding is not enough you can always opt for an Elopement.
The Elopement is the most intimate kind of wedding. The two of you in a place far from home; a beautiful location and the type of ceremony you prefer. Do you want to get married in Venice?
