Among last year’s fantastic venues, Borgo Stomennano holds a spot in the top. I left a piece of my heart there, and I cannot wait to go back and relive another gorgeous wedding. Borgo Stomennano is located in the province of Siena, very close to Monteriggioni and its impressive castle. To reach the villa, you need to walk a grand avenue surrounded by cypresses. The old charm of the villa is still intact. Its walls are burned and yellowed by the sun, and blooming jasmine climb up the facades of the villa surrounding the old windows. The villa also offers a garden with ancient fountains and a lovely pool, plus many accommodations for couples and their guests. They can choose to spend some time inside the large central house, or in one of the many small villas of Borgo Stomennano.

Why posting about Wedding Hotel in Florence? Well, although I find it rather unusual, many people don’t like summer. Some complain that it is too hot, others suffer from allergies and others like the snow. Also in the field of weddings, many people prefer to get married in winter or autumn.
Grooms-to-be especially make this request. A lot of them do not like the idea of wearing shirt, vest and jacket to go out in the sun in July, and want to feel comfortable and stylish.
May and October, are ideal for a weddings al fresco. The colours of the Tuscan countryside range from the spring green to the coppery red of the winter fields. There are breathtaking sceneries in these periods! You couldn’t miss them!

What could be more beautiful than a wedding celebrated between the frescoes and the architecture of the Florentine Baroque? All this, now, is possible in the beautiful Villa Cora in Florence, close to Piazzale Michelangelo. This bride posed for a photograph in the hall of mirrors before the church ceremony, which was held in the center of Florence. Beautiful, isn’t it?… read more...
Among all the fascinating panoramas that Tuscany can offer, Crete Senesi are one of the most suggestive and romantic: a view that can definitely take your heart away.
Last summer I had the chance to stare at them for a long time, thanks to the breathtaking Podere Finerri, an ancient farmhouse of the XVII century laid on the hills around Siena, few kilometers away from Asciano.
I got this chance by the flawless Boutique Events – one of the best wedding planning agency in Tuscany- which contacted us for the wedding of a Canadian couple, Dominique and Dave. The two planned to celebrate their wedding there, crowning their love dream among the green hills of the Tuscan country.
Dominique is a cheerful and sweet girl: her eyes are always smiling, even when she’s not saying anything. It took only a minute to be in tune with her. And what about Dave?… read more...
It’s been only four years since he first met her.
He met her in Florence, in a photography atelier where he had been working for a few years. She, a university student of photography about to graduate; he, an advertising photographer with a real passion for weddings. Since that February 2009 more than 1500 days have passed; they’ve spent together many lovely days, worked a lot and travelled little.
So, after a holiday to the Canary Islands, they decided that it was the right time to be on the other side; putting the cameras aside, they wore the wedding dresses and, after a few months of tiring preparation, they got married at the end of May surrounded by friends and relatives. The civil ceremony took place at the Abbey of San Galgano, near Siena.
Who doesn’t dream a sunny day for their wedding? That Saturday was everything but sunny. Rain, hail, 12 degrees; a day that could be easily a November one.… read more...

Why a Portovenere Wedding?
Portovenere offers everything you need for a wedding and a photo shoot to remember for a long time. The town is ancient, an old fishing village, with the typical colored houses and the harbor overlooking in front of them. In addition to the beautiful Church of San Pietro, perched on a rock overlooking the sea, there are many other reasons to organize a wedding in Portovenere.… read more...
Looking through the photos taken at many weddings, there are some moments that I remember like it was yesterday.
With the hectic life that I lead and the vast amount of people I meet, it’s easy to forget some of the details as the years pass by. I never forget, however, the story behind a photo. The pictures remind me of the many enjoyable moments during the photo shoots. A little treasure that I carry with me and enrich it again every season.
There are plenty of reasons to remember this photo. The first that comes to mind is that it was one of the rare times when we got late to the reception. The guests were waiting for us, and they were hungry. It was not my fault: the ceremony was pretty long, the couple had miscalculated the schedule, and the means of transport by which we moved was not fast at all.… read more...
For us photographers, surprises and expressions of love are on the agenda.
After years of experience, we could almost say that nothing can amaze us. We have gained such a stock of anecdotes and tales that we could impress friends and relatives, always amazed by the imagination of some of our couples.
Recently, however, an unusual experience turned up, maybe the most romantic one that our cameras have ever framed. He, Gerard, is a young Californian guy who works for the American Disney Channel; she, Klaudia, is his beautiful girlfriend, peak speaker of a Californian FM called KOST.
Gerard asked us to be present on a very special occasion: his wedding proposal to Klaudia, that would take place here in Italy in the area of Cinque Terre. Being incurably romantic, we have accepted and looked forward to the established day.
Cinque Terre Wedding Proposal
On a Saturday in June, we packed up our equipment and we went out for dinner in Monterosso, in the resort where Gerard and Klaudia were.… read more...
Cortina d’Ampezzo is one of the best known and sought after locations in Italy. Most Italian celebrities gather here during Christmas holidays, to enjoy the first snow in the shadow of the Alps. Many of them choose the Hotel Cristallo, a famous five-star resort, to spend some days in this enchanting mountain location. This is where, together with a fabulous staff, I realised this styled wedding shoot. But let’s take a step back.
Cortina d’Ampezzo is located in the Dolomites, a charming and picturesque mountain range in northern Italy. Rich in snow and ski facilities in the winter, it was the location of the 1960 winter Olympics. Since then, it is still the undisputed queen of the Italian Alps. The old village is full of boutiques and exclusive restaurants.
Hotel Cristallo is its flagship. It guarantees a unique ambience and a dreamlike atmosphere. There could be no better venue for fairytale marriages in winter.… read more...
Not even in my worst nightmares had I dreamed of my wedding in the rain! I always thought to be a lucky guy, and that these things couldn’t happen to me. I married a gorgeous woman, and if the rain is the price you pay for her, I am happy anyway. However, on my wedding day, it rained all day long. And it was also cold.
My wife and I had planned a party to remember. Three hours long canapes in the park of an Italian villa, followed by an excellent dinner at sunset. Of all the things that I couldn’t do because of rain, the al fresco dinner is what I regret the most.

The only type of communication we had before their wedding with Claire and Brady, a lovely Canadian couple, was via emails. That’s why we had no idea about their characters or whatever we usually find out during the engagement sessions before the marriage.
When we arrive to Villa di Montecastelli, an ancient renovated fortress overlooked Francigena street, the mystery was finally unrevealed.
The young couple welcomed us with warmth and kindness: after a few hours we felt like being at home and it didn’t look like we were working.
Claire and Brady celebrated their wedding in the beautiful garden of the Villa, where we realized the photo shoot below.
Villa Montecastelli offers a really spectacular setting to those who love Tuscany: besides the ancient walls you lose sight of the mold curves of Siena hills which inebriate all your senses.
Talking about senses, do we want to talk about taste? The owner of the Villa, Jens Schmidt, is also an exceptional chef.… read more...
It’s May. It starts to get hotter and hotter, beautiful sunny days are coming. I receive an email that cheers me up. A couple in love asks me if I’m available for a wedding in Cosenza, South Italy.
Finally another gorgeous wedding in the South of Italy! Not that weddings in Europe are less attractive, but the wedding in the South might be quite an experience: parties lasting for days, impressive ceremonies with hundreds of guests, beautiful baroque villas and breathtaking landscapes.
The last wedding I did in the South was at Ravello, near Amalfi and Positano. I had never worked that much before, but I felt great. The hospitality was the best, and the weather was even better. It was an experience to be repeated as soon as possible.
I booked a flight and rented a car for moving there. The event will take place on a Wednesday at the beginning of September.… read more...
Tell me the truth! Looking at this Florence Pre Wedding, wouldn’t you like to be in this couple’s shoes? Wouldn’t you like to be portrayed as you walk with the love of your life through the most beautiful streets and squares of the Tuscan city?
I was born and raised two steps away from Florence and, although I admire this beauty ever since I was a kid, every time I am still impressed by the beauty of the Tuscan city. If this happens to me, I can understand the wonder that I see in the eyes of millions of tourists and lovers who flock to Ponte Vecchio, Piazza Della Signoria and Piazzale Michelangelo.
These two guys are among them. Although they’d never been here, they have chosen Florence for their pre-wedding photos. What is it about? In the Asian tradition, engaged couples pose for pictures in the most beautiful cities in the world, including London and Venice.… read more...
Planning a romantic and charming wedding like Giulia and Luca’s one is not easy at all.
The raw materials would all be available: lots of love, a church for the religious ceremony and a beautiful Tuscan villa where you plan the reception and entertain your guests. It would be perfect, also, a bright and warm late October day. Finally, lots of luck so that everything is plain sailing and there are no hitches.
ONE THING WHERE REALLY GIULIA AND LUCA HAVE REALLY SUCCEDED, WAS THE TASTE AND THE WILL TO ORGANIZE A CLASSIC WEDDING, ONE THAT THEIR GUESTS WILL REMEMBER FOR A LONG TIME.
This wonderful couple chose the church of Santa Croce sull’ Arno and the superb Villa Paterno for the reception. Here, we had the opportunity to take intimate photographs, in contact with the silence and the autumnal colors of Tuscany.
THE VILLA IS WONDERFUL: CLIMBING PLANTS, ROSE GARDENS, GATES COVERED WITH IVY AND JASMINE, SURROUNDED BY THE TYPICAL YELLOWED VEGETATION OF EARLY FALL, WITH great attention to DETAILS.… read more...
Few women have Isabelle’s inner elegance and posture.
This bride, whom we had the pleasure to picture at her wedding, is surely one of the most delicate and sweet girl we met during our career as wedding photographers. On her side, Ronald, an excellent groom to be: charming, lively, attentive.
A very exceptional couple, like their wedding indeed: the two fiancées chose Villa Grey in Forte dei Marmi as location for their wedding party.
Obviously, Versilia is a really magic place for a visitor coming from beyond the Alps: golden beaches wide spread, the blue of the sky blending with the green of the surrounding hills… a real paradise of romanticism! Perfect for a wedding near the sea.
That’s why Isabelle and Ronald’s choice could not be better: with their inner taste and class, they have been able to organize a really chic event.
After the ceremony into the church, the party was given on Forte dei Marmi beach, at the feet of the majestic Villa Grey.… read more...
Wedding photography is one form of taking photographs that must always incorporate love into every shot.
This can be an interesting requirement, but it is usually quite doable, since the subjects of wedding photography are usually head-over-heels in love with one another. Sometimes, a shot taken by a wedding photographer takes more than a keen eye, good lighting, and the right lens.
Sometimes, there is a step-by-step process that must be pursued carefully in order to result in the picture you want. This photograph is an example of such a process.
The first time I thought to take this picture, I was actually visiting with the couple that is featured in it.
We were visiting a monastery in Florence, the venue for their upcoming wedding reception, taking preview shots for the event that was soon to take place. Near the monastery, there was a beautiful wilderness area where visitors could enjoy the view of Florence.… read more...
