Symbolic Wedding Italy

Regarding the wedding ceremony, not always the place of our dreams is the one we actually have at our disposal. There are those who’d like to walk down the beach at sunset in their white dress, others would love to exchange their eternal promises on the tower of a castle. Be guided by an expert wedding photographer to discover the best venues for humanist wedding in Italy.

Anyway, where the civil or religious rite cannot take place, you can always get the magic of a symbolic wedding Italy. This kind of celebration is exactly like the others but it can be held everywhere, even in the most particular places, which are not assigned with consecration. You just need a couple and, possibly, a celebrant. The celebrant is the figure who, following your needs and suggestions, will make a magic and unforgettable ceremony for you wherever you want to.Read more!

Elopement at Villa Vignamaggio

Villa Vignamaggio is one of those places where you could spend an entire lifetime. It is a just renovated old Tuscan-style village near Panzano in Chianti, in one the most picturesque parts of Italy. The property offers rooms for its guests, who spend a few days relaxing in the countryside, making excursions and visiting the most famous wineries in the area. Villa Vignamaggio is also the perfect wedding venue for any photo shoot. The central house, with its pink walls in contrast with the intense green of the vegetation, is ideal for portraits. All around, vineyards, hills and silence: the ultimate dream for every wedding photographer. This lovely Canadian couple decided to celebrate their wedding here. An intimate celebration, which was attended by the photographer, the celebrant and four talented musicians. Fabulous Isola del Garda wedding

Among the best works done in 2015, I remember this Isola del Garda wedding. With many hopes in my mind, I leave for Villa Florida in Gardone Riviera, the hotel where the couple got ready before the wedding. Upon my arrival, I was immediately surprised. The bride was a charming and gentle girl, the kind of muse every photographer would like to portray. The groom, also good-looking, was a friendly boy and puts me at ease right away. Their story looks like a romantic movie: they met in London. She, Russian and he, Austrian, fell for each other after a real love at first sight. Within a few months, they’ve decided to get married. What better location than Italy to do it? Isola del Garda is one of the most beautiful wedding venues in Northern Italy. This beautiful villa is located on a private island in the middle of Lake Garda, just a few minutes away by speed boat from the shores of Salò and Gardone Riviera.… read more...

Tuscany and Florence are full of charming historical villas with gardens,  grand entrances and magnificent views of the surrounding landscape. Chianti Wedding at Villa Il Poggiale

Going back to the Chianti area in September is always wonderful. The colours are the classic ones of Tuscan autumn; the vines begin to turn yellow; the leaves on the trees turn red, and the light is the warmest of the entire summer. Also, sunsets in this period are fabulous! I had the chance to enjoy all of this thanks to a Parisian couple, and their elegant wedding at Villa Il Poggiale. Villa Il Poggiale is located in San Casciano Val di Pesa, close to Florence, nestled in the hills of the Florentine Chianti area. It is an ancient historic mansion, which houses a luxury hotel. Few rooms with all amenities make this villa one of the most exclusive residences in Tuscany. In addition to the fantastic pool, Villa Il Poggiale has a lovely terrace garden, where, during the fresh summer evenings, you can spend some time relaxing watching the sunset and enjoying the sounds and the smells of the countryside.… read more...

Stylish Wedding at Capannelle Winery

Among the many venues for intimate weddings, one of the nicest that I have visited in recent times is the Capannelle Winery. This tiny boutique hotel is located in Gaiole in Chianti, in a fantastic location from which you can enjoy the view of the surrounding hills and the old village. The region is one of the most famous in Tuscany. The Chianti area is undoubtedly renowned worldwide for its excellent wines and its slow food. Millions of tourists flock to this place to spend a few days of quietness, enchanted by the legendary sceneries and the relaxed lifestyle. Capannelle Winery is a luxury resort, with few rooms but large and equipped with every comfort. The property offers a stunning infinity pool and tastings of local wines, including the ones of the resort. The garden is fabulous, with a large central gazebo covered by wisteria vines that give their best in spring.… read more...

Now Larimar Punta Cana Wedding

I met these two young Canadians for the first time on the occasion of the wedding proposal in the Cinque Terre. I helped Barry during the planning, and I was there when he asked Jessica to marry him. A wonderful day that I still remember with emotion. So when I was invited to photograph their wedding in the Caribbean, I did not think twice, and I just said yes. Exactly as I don’t refuse an invitation to dinner with our loved ones, for no reason at all I would have missed Barry and Jessica’s marriage. The location of the wedding is the Now Larimar in Punta Cana. The resort, which overlooks the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea, is located in the Dominican Republic, and is surrounded by palm trees, white sand and lush gardens. A real feast for the eyes! As soon as I arrived, I immediately realised that it was the perfect place for breathtaking wedding photos.… read more...

Romantic Tuscany Elopement

Borgo Santo Pietro, the location of today’s wedding, is located in southern Tuscany, the one with round hills and endless fields of sunflowers to admire while strolling along the long roads that run through the countryside. A stone’s throw from the famous Abbey of San Galgano, there’s this fantastic luxury resort that Jenny and Michael have chosen as the venue for their wedding.

The resort consists of a large old villa, which houses the restaurant and the reception, around which the property spreads throughout. Many smaller villas, available for guests, are along roads lined with cypress trees that lead to the large central villa. Thanks to the pool, the gardens, and the services offered, it is the perfect setting to enjoy a relaxing holiday in the quiet of the area. But that’s not all! Borgo Santo Pietro is ideal for a special elopement. Set off from hot Los Angeles for a travelling journey through old Europe, this couple decided to celebrate their wedding here on a warm autumn day.

Boho Wedding Agriturismo Podere Bellaria

Boho Wedding Agriturismo Podere Bellaria

Nestled into the Crete Senesi, the Agriturismo Podere Bellaria is a charming place where to spend a few relaxing days in Tuscany. It is located halfway between Siena and Arezzo, in a pristine and almost deserted area. In addition to a large beautiful garden, the property also offers a swimming pool and various accommodations for its guests. Not surprisingly, today’s couple has chosen to celebrate their intimate marriage here. The bride and groom got dressed in one of the villas of the farmhouse. She wore her beautiful bohemian style dress, a floral wreath on her head and a lush, colourful bouquet, before walking down the aisle and getting next to her husband in the garden, where the ceremony took place. The spouses have exchanged vows and rings under the sun of Tuscany, surrounded by their friends and families. Bucolic Lerici Wedding

If I were to get married again, I would seriously consider Lerici as my wedding location. This stretch of the Ligurian coast is as beautiful as little known. Frequented mainly by locals, it is one of the loveliest areas where to celebrate a seaside celebration. The bride and the groom, from the cold Russia, have chosen Lerici among the many wedding locations of Liguria. In addition to the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea, it’s been the typically Italian atmosphere that brought them here. For example, the colourful houses near the harbour,  the perched castle, rustic taverns and cafes overlooking the square, the rowdy fishermen who sell fresh seafood directly on the market stalls. A lovely atmosphere! They got dressed up in a private inn in Fiascherino, surrounded by their families and close friends. The couple portraits were taken in the morning in the center of Lerici. After the first pictures, with boats and blue water as a background, we climbed the small fishing village up to the castle, on the top of the village.… read more...

Borgo di Castelvecchio Wedding

Borgo di Castelvecchio Wedding

Borgo di Castelvecchio is one of the most picturesque venues of the entire  Tuscany. I arrived here on a very hot summer day, crossing the desolate streets and the fields burned by the sun. The view of the village was a breath of fresh air. A gate in the middle of nowhere has welcomed me and, soon after, the village showed itself in all its majesty. Borgo di Castelvecchio is an old village restored according to a project respectful of history and territory. The old Tuscan charm has remained intact. The large central courtyard and the stylish villas are situated inside a giant property, near which there are also a panoramic swimming pool and a horse-riding school. All around, there is the view of the Val d’Orcia and the Crete Senesi. A true show, just a few minute drive from Pienza and San Quirico. Conti di San Bonifacio Wedding

Conti di San Bonifacio is undoubtedly one of the most attractive wedding venues of Tuscany. You never stop wondering! When I thought I had seen the nicest places there, here comes the chance to work in this incredible estate in the Maremma. This Conti di San Bonifacio Wedding is worth to be told! But first things first. Conti di San Bonifacio is a wine resort located in Gavorrano, in the province of Grosseto. The area is the wildest and unspoilt of Tuscany: the paradise of every photographer. Fields in bloom and orderly vineyards accompany me along the journey on deserted roads. A gate out of nowhere welcomes me; the road begins to climb and, at last, I am in front of the impressive facade of the structure. A large arched wooden door is before my eyes. Above it, the skeleton of the head of a buffalo. I am suddenly aware that one of the strengths of the Conti di  San Bonifacio is the position.… read more...

Francesca + Tim | Wedding in Umbria

Timeless La Badia Orvieto Wedding

Enjoy this stunning La Badia Orvieto Wedding. Meet this beautiful couple from LA, California. Francesca’s gorgeous blonde hair, brown eyes, and unforgettable smile made her a pleasure to photograph. Together they make an unforgettably graceful and elegant pair. Francesca’s dad emigrated from Italy to the States when he was 17, and although she still has her original Italian surname and italian citizenship, she doesn’t speak much of the language. Francesca and Tim felt that the only way to feel like he was at the wedding was to get married in his country.  This couple is 100% American, but that didn’t stop them from having their special day in the incredible landscapes of Umbria, Italy. Many couples from all around the world choose Italy as the place to tie the knot, and it’s no surprise why. Italy is one of the most beautiful and romantic destinations on the globe. But Umbria, which is very similar to Tuscany, is a relatively new destination for foreign weddings.… read more...

International Wedding at Castello di Vincigliata

Of all the wedding venues in Florence, the Castello di Vincigliata is undoubtedly the most scenic. Perched on a hill near Fiesole, the castle offers newlyweds and guests a breathtaking view, areas set up for every part of the ceremony and the wedding reception, an atmosphere that is not easily forgotten. Today’s couple has organised the wedding right here. The spouses got ready in Villa Fiesole, an elegant hotel at a short distance from the castle. The ceremony took place inside the cloister. The bride and groom exchanged vows and wedding rings under an arch of flowers, in front of their excited guests. I  took the traditional photographs with families and couple portraits inside the castle property. Although the scenery in the surrounding area is lovely, the venue offers many beautiful spots, perfect for wedding photos. The groom had also hired a Fiat Cinquecento, thanks to which I could take some funny pictures.… read more...

Villa Pitiana Wedding

It is always a pleasure to return to Villa Pitiana to shoot a wedding. This wedding venue is one of the most suggestive in the countryside of Florence. Villa Pitiana is located in Donnini, on the hills surrounding Florence, very close to Reggello. It is a large manor house, built in 1200 that can accommodate large and intimate weddings. Villa Pitiana, besides numerous rooms for the newlyweds and guests of the event, also has big gardens and panoramic terraces outdoor, and ancient halls indoor. Each step of the marriage is customizable, thanks to an excellent wedding planner that the Villa offers to the couples. Also, Villa Pitiana might be the perfect place for a marvellous honeymoon. Romantic Wedding in Cinque Terre

Among the many great wedding locations where to elope in Italy, Cinque Terre have to be mentioned among the most charming. Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza, and Monterosso; these are the names of the villages. Couples who decide to celebrate a wedding in Cinque Terre will benefit not only from the turquoise, clear waters but also from the natural setting, where the untouched nature is interspersed with vineyards, olive groves, and orchards, creating a valuable relationship between man, his traditions and this outstanding stretch of coast. Cinque Terre are one of God’s remarkable gifts to landscape, portrait and wedding photographers. Every village provides many excellent backdrops for breathtaking photos. Lovely Cinque Terre Elopement

Taking wedding photos at the Cinque Terre is the aspiration of many photographers. The Cinque Terre are in fact one of the most visited tourist destinations in Italy. Undoubtedly the most requested by professional photographers and enthusiasts for a holiday in the Bel Paese. Well connected with the main Italian cities, Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso are located above a strip of coast overlooking the Ligurian Riviera. These five villages are perched on the dark rock above the turquoise sea. Behind them, green hills covered with vineyards and olive trees. Although very different from each other, the houses of all the villages are painted in pastel colours. It’s easy to meet other photographers on the paths that connect the villages, or in the most beautiful spots, as they wait for the right light to take a picture of the sunset. Having the opportunity to photograph beautiful couples on their Cinque Terre elopements fills my heart with joy and enthusiasm.… read more...

Courtney + Nick | Wedding in Umbria

Wedding in Castello di Borgia: Courtney and Nick

Umbria, a Thursday in September. I check out the reminder note I printed in the morning: ok, the address’s right. In front of me stands out the impressive Borgia Castle, a majestic building of medieval age. I’m here for a wedding that’s a bit different from the usual ones, first of all for the venue. I am in Passignano sul Trasimeno. Bye bye Tuscany, today I stray. The wedding will be celebrated tomorrow, but I preferred to move in advance, so I have the time to see the place and look for the best spots for photographs. I don’t know much about Nick and Courtney, but the little I know excite me: I going to shoot the wedding of a young Canadian couple who work as….models. Oh yes! Friday’s morning, the sun is a little shy, it’s hidden behind the clouds and mostly behind the towers of the castle, whose park is going to host the wedding ceremony.… read more...

Villa Di Ulignano Wedding

Whether you see it for the first or the hundredth time, you cannot help but be enchanted by the Villa di Ulignano. It happened to me. Although I’ve  visited hundreds of wedding locations, Villa di Ulignano delighted me on a beautiful October day. The same, alas, must have happened to this sweet Canadian couple who have decided to crown their dream of love in Tuscany. Villa di Ulignano is located near Volterra, surrounded by the hills of the Chianti area. It is an ancient villa, with many rooms to receive guests and magnificent Tuscan-style lounges. The bride and the groom decided to celebrate their wedding by the pool, in the garden, in front of the sumptuous landscape of the Chianti area. A moving ceremony, under the sun of a bright autumn day. However, the weather changes quickly in the October days. The sun was darkened rapidly by clouds swollen with rain, which did not take long to get over our heads.… read more...

Romantic Beach Club Wedding in Italy

Although so popular in Italy, few outsiders know the beauty of Versilia. Famous for its hills and its cypresses, Tuscany also offers couples a beautiful coastline, ideal for romantic honeymoons or, as in the case of Paola and Nick, perfect for beach weddings in Italy. Although the sea is not that great, Forte dei Marmi and Pietrasanta are the destination of hundreds of families from North and Central Italy for summer holidays. One of the many reasons that makes Versilia popular since the 60s is the fantastic atmosphere you can feel there. After their first visit, even Paola and Nick were amazed by this corner of Tuscany. Paola and Nick chose the Beach Club in Forte dei Marmi for the planning their beach club wedding in Italy. This beautiful beach resort looks perfect for fairytale weddings.  The resort is located directly on the beach. Inside there are a swimming pool, a popular and award-winning restaurant and giant dance floor.… read more...
