Garden Wedding at Villa Le Piazzole

Every year, I portray dozens of couples from all over the world around Europe. This is the first time I have the pleasure of photographing a couple from Costa Rica and their lovely wedding at Villa Le Piazzole in Florence. The bride, who’s been forever deeply in love with  Italy, couldn’t help but choose Florence as the location for her wedding. So she left Costa Rica with a few family members to spend some relaxing days in the Florentine countryside. Right here is Villa Le Piazzole. Surrounded by rows of olive trees and cypresses, the villa has a desirable location, overlooking Florence and the surrounding hills. Is less than 10 minutes away from the major attractions of the Tuscan city and offers its guests relaxation, privacy and a stunning swimming pool with a view. Both the bride and the groom got ready inside the rooms of the villa. The ceremony took place in the garden where the wedding planner and the florists have created a pretty enchanting setting.… read more...

Spring Florence Wedding at Villa Castelletti

Spring Florence Wedding at Villa Castelletti

April, in Italy, is the month of blossoming. Spring has just begun: trees and plants awaken after the long winter and begin to show the best of themselves. Colourful flowers peek out into the earlier frozen fields of Tuscany. Rain comes and, within a few hours, it gives way to blazing red sunsets. With a little luck, April is the perfect month to celebrate a wedding in Florence and surrounding countryside. The bride and the groom are both Parisians. What better location than the French capital to organise an unforgettable wedding? Tuscany, maybe. Yes, because these lovebirds were looking for something different for their marriage. Tuscany and Villa Castelletti hit them straight in the heart. So, having discovered one of the most beautiful venues in Florence, they began to look for a church that could hold a Catholic Mass in French for them, their families and the many guests. The choice fell on Santa Maria Delle Carceri in Prato, a 1400 building with an imposing Greek cross plan, located in the centre of Prato.… read more...

Florence wedding at Villa di Maiano

The bride and groom of today, although they are 100% English, have lived in the UAE for several years now. Their wedding was the occasion to meet once again family and friends who live far away. What better location than Florence to do this? They, in fact, love Italy and its beautiful life. Wouldn’t you like to enjoy a delicious meal under the starry sky with the sound of crickets accompanying the dinner? If you were forced to live mostly indoors, you’d probably experience Italian Dolce Vita on the most beautiful day of your life. Tuscany is rich in villas and castles where you can organise a wedding. However, if you want a Catholic wedding in an ancient villa, you should know that very few facilities are lucky enough to have the church on the property. The choice is even harder if you’re looking only in the province of Florence. The bride and groom of the day celebrated the religious ceremony inside the beautiful Church of San Martino in Maiano.… read more...

Christmas wedding proposal in Italy

Besides being a lovely place where to spend a romantic getaway in Italy, the Four Seasons in Florence is the perfect venue for exciting weddings and elopements. For the first time, I had the privilege of telling through my lens a beautiful love story that’s just begun: that of this gorgeous couple and their Christmas wedding proposal. Christmas is, in fact, one of the most inspiring moments to be spent in Italy. The Four Seasons Hotel in Florence, for the holidays, puts on its best dress. The lobby is painted in white and gold. Snow-covered trees decorated with golden balls and stars surround the statue inspired by Michelangelo’s David. Christmas songs are playing. The atmosphere is enchanting as well. Florence is full of lights and activities; the museums are open and everywhere echoes the music of dozens of street musicians. At the beautiful private chapel, he proposed her. A dreamy marriage proposal.… read more...

Winter Florence Elopement

I love you in all languages of the world. It’s the name of an Italian film of 2005 by Leonardo Pieraccioni, well known in Italy but little abroad.  It comes back to my mind during a photo shoot in Florence. Two gorgeous Brazilian newlyweds in front of me; around, intrigued and fascinated, many couples in love on vacation look at the couple as they walk dreamy, radiant and happy after their wedding. This couple has already been here when they were engaged, and they chose to come back here for the best day of their lives. From Brazil, they have opted for the Tuscan city to elope. They’ve always been in love with Italian art and culture. In particular, Junior, who,  with his Empire-style tattoos resumes the shapes and decorations of Roman architecture. They could not choose a better destination for their elopement. Florence in this season shows itself in all its beauty.… read more...

Classic Vincigliata Castle Wedding

Classic Vincigliata Castle Wedding

The most classic wedding in Florence could not exist without the beauty of the Vincigliata Castle as a venue. Built entirely of stone, the castle is located in Fiesole, in a panoramic position, surrounded by olive groves and lush wild countryside. After seeing it, this couple decided to receive their guests here on the occasion of the wedding reception. But let’s take a step back. They got ready, together with their families and friends, at the Fattoria Il Milione, entirely occupied by the wedding guests. They met in the centre of Florence for the Catholic ceremony that was celebrated in the ancient Church of All Saints. A rich, opulent church and a stone’s throw from the River Arno and the sights of the Tuscan city. I took their pictures right there, among the artistic beauties of the historic centre. After a few photos in Piazzale Michelangelo, with a view of the city in the background, the couple reached their friends and family at the Vincigliata Castle.… read more...

Villa La Vedetta Wedding

Villa La Vedetta Wedding

Among the many venues for weddings in Florence, Villa Vedetta deserves a special mention. The beauty of this residence perched on the hills around the capital of Tuscany is not the only reason why Sharlene and Craig, all the way from Australia, decided to get married here. But if you’ve never seen Villa La Vedetta, you just cannot help but fall in love with it at first sight. They know it well. Villa La Vedetta is located a few steps from Piazzale Michelangelo, the terrace with the most beautiful view in Florence. It is a historic old villa which has 18 rooms inside, a famous restaurant, a beautiful Italian garden, a swimming pool and a fabulous terrace with a view. The historic center of Florence is less than 10 minutes away, and can be reached thanks to the free shuttle that Villa La Vedetta puts at the disposal of its customers who wish to visit the beauties of the city center.… read more...

Rainy Garden Blessing at Villa Le Piazzole

Rainy Garden Blessing at Villa Le Piazzole

Villa Le Piazzole is located in Galluzzo, a small and lovely village on the outskirts of Florence, on the ancient road that leads to Siena through the Chianti hills. Villa Le Piazzole is one of the most attractive wedding venues in Florence. An Italian garden surrounds the main mansion. Inside the property, there are also a pool with a view, vineyards, dirt roads throughout the wild nature and even a small church, perfect for small intimate blessings. Villa Le Piazzole gives its best in the spring. The flowering roses climb on the ancient walls, and the warm and enveloping light gives the garden grace and colour. Even Florence and its Duomo, two steps away, seem to shine again after the long winter. Despite the rain, this American couple decided to celebrate their wedding at Villa Le Piazzole. They both got ready in a hotel in the centre of Florence. After having her makeup and hairstyle done, the bride wore her bridal gown and reached the villa.… read more...

Chic Spring Villa Dianella Wedding

To create an elegant wedding you need only a few elements, simple and timeless. Two guys deeply in love, a romantic country church, a reception among the silent hills of Tuscany and the affection of relatives and friends. I met Letizia and Gianluca on a cold February afternoon, in the sunny Versilia. I quickly realised in front of me I had two sweet and kind guys, ready to receive helpful tips to plan their wedding, without neglecting any detail. Together we have planned the photo shoot of their beautiful marriage in Tuscany, scheduled on an April morning, just two months after we met. Letizia and Gianluca got married with a Catholic ceremony in the Church of San Frediano in Ponsacco. A delightful church, intimate and lovingly cared for. I loved the floral arrangements chosen by the couple. The ceremony took place between the excitement of newlyweds and guests, in an atmosphere of joy and emotion.… read more...

Church Wedding at La Certosa

For those who dream of a religious marriage, Florence offers many beautiful churches. The old town is full of ancient and beautiful churches. A real jewel instead is set in the hills around the Tuscan city: La Certosa del Galluzzo, an ancient Carthusian monastery, located in the Florence countryside. The couple got dressed and ready in the beautiful Villa Cora, a stone’s throw from the historic centre and the artistic beauties of the city. The bride looked even more beautiful after a gorgeous make-up made by Anna Matanovic. The lipstick was perfectly in tune with the colour of the bouquets, the wedding table decorations and the favours for the guests. The ceremony was held inside the Certosa. The bride arrived on a beautiful Bentley and climbed the stairs leading to the altar with her father, both clearly excited. Given the beauty of the ceremony and the reception, I took the first part of the wedding photo shoot at the Certosa,  and some other pictures in the gardens and inside Villa Cora.… read more...

Stylish Engagement Session in Florence

An engagement session in Florence is always a good excuse to enjoy a few relaxing days in the capital of Tuscany. The beauty of the town, good food, art, fancy boutiques are just a few good reasons to spend some days in Florence. And maybe to have your pictures taken by a photographer! The couple of the day had one more reason for the images. These two cute British guys are getting married next year in Tuscany and, for their engagement photos,  they have chosen Florence. It was a pleasure to guide and portray them in some of the most fascinating spots in the town. We walked through the streets of the old centre, among  Renaissance statues and marvellous backgrounds for photos. I took the opportunity to show them the hidden wonders of the Tuscan capital. The day was sunny and the climate perfect for light clothing. She wore a beautiful pair of red-soled Louboutin,  perfectly in tune with the sweater and the mood of the engagement photographs.… read more...

Looking at this Florence Pre Wedding, wouldn’t you like to be in this couple’s shoes? Wouldn’t you like to be portrayed as you walk with the love of your life through the most beautiful streets and squares of the Tuscan city? I was born and raised two steps away from Florence and, although I admire this beauty ever since I was a kid, every time I am still impressed by the beauty of the Tuscan city. If this happens to me, I can understand the wonder that I see in the eyes of millions of tourists and lovers who flock to Ponte Vecchio, Piazza Della Signoria and Piazzale Michelangelo. These two guys are among them. Although they’d never been here, they have chosen Florence for their pre-wedding photos. What is it about? Romantic Elopement in Florence

Romantic Elopement in Florence

Romantic Elopement in Florence

Florence is often the destination of my photo shoots such as engagement sessions, weddings, honeymoon and pre -wedding. This time, however, as it happens more and more often now, my subjects are a beautiful Australian couple who decided to get married in Florence without any guest, but the photographer! This particular photo shoot is defined Elopement in Florence. The newlyweds were adorable and smiling; excited and happy, they celebrated the wedding with a civil ceremony in the rich Sala Rossa, the red room, in Palazzo Vecchio, the town hall of Florence. Among tourists and visitors, who especially in this season crowd the town, the cradle of the Renaissance, there was a short but intense photo shoot through the streets and monuments. The groom, in dark suit, was simply elegant and austere. A sincere expression and a reassuring face, his eyes full of love for his beautiful bride. The bride, gorgeous in a lace dress, was the perfect model for our shots.… read more...

Gorgeous Indian Villa Cora Wedding

Gorgeous Indian Villa Cora Wedding

Villa Cora is one of the most luxurious and exclusive hotels in Florence. Organising a Villa Cora wedding is a daydream. The large baroque halls, the elegant rooms in Florentine style and the Italian garden are some of the major pros of this magnificent and antique Italian Villa. This couple decided to crown their dream of love right here. Villa Cora was the undisputed star of the three-day marriage with  Indian ritual. Hundreds of guests from around the world gathered in Florence to celebrate the union of this delightful Swiss couple. The bride and the groom got dressed up in their rooms in the villa. The celebration took place at the Hotel Westin Excelsior, in the centre of Florence. There could be no better place for the photo shoot! I took the couple’s portraits in the most impressive spots of the city centre and the surrounding hills. Also, I made some romantic shots with the Bentley that the couple had rented for the occasion.… read more...

Fashionable Florence Engagement Session

Fashionable Florence Engagement Session

Alexandra is one of those girls who, the moment you see them- bang!- she strike you right in the heart with their disarming beauty and cheerfulness. Florentines know it well, because, during a warm afternoon of May, they have stared at her while she was walking on the cobblestones of the city, close to her future husband. What to say about Jay, her groom to be? I met a handsome dark-haired,  tall and elegant man who didn’t leave neutral the women walking in the centre of Florence. But let’s step back. In Spring I received an email from two young New-Yorkers, Alexandra and Jay, who had decided to leave the Big Apple to exchange their eternal vows here in Tuscany, on the mild hills of the Florentine countryside. They also wanted me to take their engagement photos so that I could know each other better and get some memories of their holidays in Tuscany.… read more...

International Wedding at Castello di Vincigliata

Of all the wedding venues in Florence, the Castello di Vincigliata is undoubtedly the most scenic. Perched on a hill near Fiesole, the castle offers newlyweds and guests a breathtaking view, areas set up for every part of the ceremony and the wedding reception, an atmosphere that is not easily forgotten. Today’s couple has organised the wedding right here. The spouses got ready in Villa Fiesole, an elegant hotel at a short distance from the castle. The ceremony took place inside the cloister. The bride and groom exchanged vows and wedding rings under an arch of flowers, in front of their excited guests. I  took the traditional photographs with families and couple portraits inside the castle property. Although the scenery in the surrounding area is lovely, the venue offers many beautiful spots, perfect for wedding photos. The groom had also hired a Fiat Cinquecento, thanks to which I could take some funny pictures.… read more...

Greek wedding in Florence

It is all too easy to start talking about this Greek wedding in Florence quoting a movie from a few years ago: “My big fat Greek wedding“. A funny, pleasant comedy that made me laugh sincerely. Discovering that the Greeks are, in some ways, similar to the protagonists of the movie,  was surprising. But let’s step back. Let’s talk about the groom, Giorgos. What could be more Greek of a Greek guy who works at the Greek restaurant in Florence? A very tall guy, who likes to laugh, joke and have fun. He has a genuine passion for his home country. During a meeting, before the wedding, I was enchanted to listen to him as he recounted the origins of his family. Here, right. Family and traditions. Forget what they say on TV about the Greeks. I did not know the Hellenic people, and the truth is that they are much more similar to us than you could imagine.… read more...

Villa Le Piazzole Wedding in Florence

Cursed be the day that I was born in Italy, as I will never be able to see this incredible country through the eyes of a stranger! I told this fact to my future wife during the planning of our honeymoon. And now, every time that I shoot a Villa Le Piazzole wedding, I repeat it to the bride and the groom. Very few places in the world can boast of such artistic heritage as Italy. Florence, Rome and Venice are the three main centres, with the most beautiful and largest museums. However, more generally, Italy offers visitors an amazing life experience, and memories to take back home with them. Imagine waking up in the morning and walking through long and frescoed corridors. Imagine a weak and warm light that illuminates homemade jams and bread, while grand marble statues look over your breakfast meeting with the love of your life. This is Italy, baby!… read more...
