Cinque Terre is one of the most beautiful places in Italy, visited by millions of travellers every year. Among these, dozens of lovers choose them as the destination of wedding proposals, fabulous ocean-view ceremonies and also portrait sessions.
Cinque Terre in English is Five Lands – it sounds very Game of Thrones, and it makes them even cooler though. It’s all about a strip of the coast of Liguria overlooking the ocean formed by five delightful and colourful villages: Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso. Each village has its peculiarities which makes one different from the others. A dense network of paths crosses the Cinque Terre, the most famous of which is La Via dell’Amore – the Trail of Love in English – that connects Riomaggiore to Manarola. Could there be a better place to film a love story?
And in fact, these lovebirds have chosen Riomaggiore as a destination of their engagement session. He had proposed the day before in Vernazza. She said yes, and so they decided to take advantage of the beauty of Riomaggiore and get a different background for their engagement photographs. The gentle slope towards the ocean, where even the colourful buildings seem to lay down is one of the most enchanting settings. The dark rocks make the sea intensely blue, so why not take some casual portraits near the water with fishermen boats in the background? Riomaggiore is small but provides everything an engagement photographer might need for great photo shoots.
It was a pleasure to portray them while jumping and having fun among the rocks overlooking the ocean. Moreover, there were just a few people, and therefore all the cosiness needed to make great shots. Furthermore, Riomaggiore gave us a terrific sunset, and although it was very hot, it was worth it! After the last shots, the bride and groom-to-be greeted me and continued their journey home. It’s amazing to think how their lives will change shortly. But I’m sure they will happily remember forever this fantastic Engagement Session in Riomaggiore thanks to these fabulous shots.
