Palazzo Capponi is a magnificent 16th-century building, right next to the Ponte Santa Trinita, just a short walk from the beauties of the centre of Florence. At the moment it is expertly managed by Lungarno Collections, which has made it an exclusive venue for luxury events, but also rehearsal dinners, receptions, and gala evenings in Florence. This space of amazing beauty, with impressive frescoes decorating the walls, and the latest technology for light and music, provides a fairytale stage for events. The caterer is supplied by the renowned Borgo San Jacopo Restaurant nearby, that offers fabulous meals for any number of guests.
On a cold November evening, the talented Michelle Durpetti wanted to surprise her parents on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary with this event at Palazzo Capponi. Their story has an Italian taste. The Durpetti family is originally from Lucca, a pretty Tuscan town not far from Florence. After Michelle’s birth, the family moved to the United States, where they all currently live. Michelle is now a talented wedding planner – married to a great wedding photographer BTW – and organises fabulous weddings and events in Chicago and beyond. She has lived very little in Italy, but she spent several summer holidays for studies here and learned Italian thanks to her Nonna. Now she speaks perfect Italian, the most romantic language in the world!
For this event at Palazzo Capponi, Michelle and Lilla Bespoke Florals set up a fabulous table with seasonal flowers and fruits in the spectacular Sala Poccetti. Once completed, Michelle invited her parents here for dinner, who were surprised and very happy. We greeted them right before dinner, still with this lovely setting in our eyes. We look forward to working with you Michelle on some stunning destination weddings in Florence and Tuscany!
