The bride and groom of today, although they are 100% English, have lived in the UAE for several years now. Their wedding was the occasion to meet once again family and friends who live far away. What better location than Florence to do this? They, in fact, love Italy and its beautiful life. Wouldn’t you like to enjoy a delicious meal under the starry sky with the sound of crickets accompanying the dinner? If you were forced to live mostly indoors, you’d probably experience Italian Dolce Vita on the most beautiful day of your life.
Tuscany is rich in villas and castles where you can organise a wedding. However, if you want a Catholic wedding in an ancient villa, you should know that very few facilities are lucky enough to have the church on the property. The choice is even harder if you’re looking only in the province of Florence. The bride and groom of the day celebrated the religious ceremony inside the beautiful Church of San Martino in Maiano. Their guests attended a beautiful ceremony. The bride and groom, deeply moved, exchanged their vows of love in a church that smells of history, among the tears, the smiles, and the joy of their friends from all over the world.
There is nothing more beautiful than to seal all of this with a wedding toast! We did not have to go far. The Villa di Maiano, in fact, is right next to the church; here the couple had arranged the reception. They couldn’t have made a better choice! The cocktail hour was fantastic: the father of the bride and the best man pronounced the traditional wedding speeches in the large garden in front of the main facade of the villa; the guests attended with fun and emotion while sipping sparkling wine in front of the enchanting views of the Tuscan hills. Some of them took two steps inside the property and discovered what the Villa di Maiano can offer. Once you pass beyond the imposing walls through a large iron gate, you find yourself in a garden, sometimes used for symbolic ceremonies under the shade of a large oak. Following the path, you get to the large panoramic terrace in stone, which is located just in front of the main facade of the villa. Here the bride and groom had set dinner: large round tables with wooden chairs overlooking the sunset and the cathedral of Florence.
But that’s not all! The villa offers several areas to accommodate each stage of the wedding reception. The great Italian garden was the perfect location for an unforgettable photo shoot. Large-flowered rose bushes, mature trees, and hedges that seem designed by a painter were the backdrop for photos of the couple, beautiful and smiling on the most beautiful day of their lives. The newlyweds were so happy; you could see it in the portraits: big eyes full of joy, charm, and beauty, which we hope to see throughout their lives. The warmth of the sunset on the skin and flies dancing in the air, as if everything around there was nothing but the Tuscan countryside and the view of Florence. So I photographed Julia and Paul during a short walk in the garden.
Julia wore a romantic and precious dress that sweetly wrapped around her beautiful shape – a long dress with lace, two lovely shoulder straps, and a significant neckline to highlight her décolleté. Julia decided to wear a long veil for the ceremony in the church. Her slender figure was perfect in this classic and elegant dress, definitely very feminine. Paul chose a sober and elegant style—a midnight blue-colored suit, a perfect white shirt with pink tie; looked pure and classic, a perfect outfit. Dinner was served shortly after sunset, at dusk. The guests enjoyed delicious food and wines before attending the first dance of the newlyweds, which was held in the billiard room under the beautiful chandelier of Murano glass, in the middle of centuries-old frescoes and ancient tapestries. And let the party begin!
I will remember this wedding for a long time, not only for its excellent climate and the beauty of the bride and groom. They were fabulous from the first moment I met them.
