When it comes to destination weddings in Italy, Florence is one of the top choices for couples and wedding planners. It is not a surprise! The beauty of the old town, the excellent location, fabulous panoramic views, good food, great wine and the relaxed lifestyle make Florence one of the favourite locations of brides and grooms around the globe.
It is not surprising, then, that today’s couple chose a villa in Florence to celebrate their marriage abroad. Villa La Vedetta is one of the most beautiful. This small house is a five-star luxury hotel that also houses a renowned restaurant. From every spot of the villa, you can enjoy an unbelievable view, so that its panoramic terrace is the most impressive of Florence. In addition to this, Villa La Vedetta also has a lovely garden and a superb swimming pool for the most demanding guests. It’s not a coincidence that more and more luxurious receptions are organised in the shade of this venue.
The newlyweds got ready in the modern rooms, made up by the fabulous Costanza. The religious ceremony took place at Chiesa Dei Santissimi Apostoli, near Ponte Vecchio and the Duomo of Florence. After the traditional group shots with the wedding party, I brought the bride and groom to the most beautiful spots in Florence to capture memorable wedding photographs. It didn’t take long: a nice walk, some moments to watch the city from above and a passionate kiss at sunset. Between flowered gardens and secluded spots with a view, the portraits of this photo session are among the most impressive of the year.
When we came back to Villa La Vedetta, guests were enjoying aperitifs and canapés in the garden. The dinner took place on the rooftop terrace just before sunset. The guests sat at two imperial tables decorated with flowers and chandeliers by the great Alessia B. Just before the evening, I shot the traditional speeches by the bride’s father and the Best Man, among tears, laughter and toasts with the renowned local wine. I watched them dance for the first time, still thrilled for the many emotions of the day, and toast again and again with their friends from all over the world.
