I met these two young Canadians for the first time on the occasion of the wedding proposal in the Cinque Terre. I helped Barry during the planning, and I was there when he asked Jessica to marry him. A wonderful day that I still remember with emotion. So when I was invited to photograph their wedding in the Caribbean, I did not think twice, and I just said yes. Exactly as I don’t refuse an invitation to dinner with our loved ones, for no reason at all I would have missed Barry and Jessica’s marriage.
The location of the wedding is the Now Larimar in Punta Cana. The resort, which overlooks the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea, is located in the Dominican Republic, and is surrounded by palm trees, white sand and lush gardens. A real feast for the eyes! As soon as I arrived, I immediately realised that it was the perfect place for breathtaking wedding photos. There are dozens of amazing spots to get a fabulous photo shoot. I was looking forward to it!
The wedding day was long and exciting. The ceremony was held under a gazebo in the garden. A fast but moving ritual. It was great to see the lovers crown their dream of love surrounded by friends and family. Afterwards, while I took couple portraits, the guests enjoyed a refreshing cocktail in the vast garden of the resort. The wedding reception was on the beach. A large imperial table lit by many candles and a twinking lights on the dance floor are some of the many things that I will remember about this marriage. Before the first dance, the traditional speeches by those closest to the bride and groom. And let the party begin!
For this beautiful Now Larimar Punta Cana wedding, the bride wore a light and elegant dress, with a soft skirt of silk tulle. The bodice, decorated with precious lace, had a beautiful deep squared neckline on the back, light and thin straps and a soft bow around the waist. A very romantic dress that has enhanced the beautiful Jessica, who, thanks to makeup and a perfect side hairstyle has bewitched her husband, all the guests, and me too! Barry, given the hot temperatures, has chosen not to wear the jacket. The groom chose a casual look with matching waistcoat and elegant trousers.
In addition to Barry and Jessica, I want to thank their families and their friends. Despite being a job, it was great to spend enjoyable hours with you. I hope one day to meet you again, perhaps on another beautiful occasion like this.
Last, but not least, a big thank you also to Lorenzo, my travelling companion. Thanks for your valuable support and for sharing with me the emotions of this event.
