After a whole summer spent on taking wedding photos in Tuscany and Italy, there isn’t anything better than a short vacation. And even if I do what I love for a living, a weekend off is necessary to recharge the batteries after a stressful season, in view of the last photo shoots of the year. What better place than the English countryside to spend two days of total leisure?
Therefore, once booked a flight, we reserved a room at the fabulous Hanbury Manor Marriott Hotel in Hertfordshire. And we have found exactly what we were looking for! The Hanbury Manor is a typical English style manor with a park and golf course. It’s a place to unwind, located on beautiful grounds.
The English countryside in early October is beautiful. The colours are turned to copper and red, and we’ve been lucky enough to find three sunny days. Actually, we didn’t need anything more than being pampered, between long walks and excellent food, unplugged and disconnected, and we can only say thanks to this beautiful place.
The outlets were terrific. We tried all the restaurants, the food and beverage choice was excellent, and the service was very courteous and accommodating. The afternoon tea was delicious – lovely fresh panini and a tasty variety of cakes. The Spa facilities are great too. That’s precisely what I would expect from a Marriott hotel.
What else to say? Perhaps it would be worthwhile to schedule a short vacation like this one before every wedding season. We hope to revisit this fabulous place in spring then!
