Borgo di Castelvecchio is one of the most picturesque venues of the entire Tuscany. I got here on a scorching summer day, passing through desolate streets and fields burned by the sun. The view of the village was a breath of fresh air! A gate in the middle of nowhere welcomed me and, soon after, the village showed itself in all its majesty.
Borgo di Castelvecchio is an old village; the old Tuscan charm has remained intact. The central courtyard and the stylish villas are located within a large property that also includes a swimming pool with a view and a horse-riding school. All around, only views of the Val d’Orcia and the Crete Senesi. A real show, just a few minutes drive from Pienza and San Quirico.
The bride got ready in one of the villas. The talented Silvia Gerzeli had enhanced her natural beauty with a perfect makeup before she wore her fabulous dress. The ceremony took place in the garden. The bride and groom exchanged rings and promises in the silence of the Tuscan countryside, a perfect backdrop for their wedding photos. Later on, I portrayed the couple and their families here, before taking some natural and candid pictures during a stroll in the surrounding fields. I asked them to talk, smile and it was a pleasure to watch them happy and still excited after the ceremony. And while I took the photos, the guests enjoyed a traditional appetiser with canapes and local red wine.
The wedding dinner took place under the branches of the large central oak. The groom, the bride’s father and the man of honour made their speeches, and everyone toasted to this wonderful happy marriage. The party continued with the first dance under the light of fireworks. Surely a wedding to remember! Here are some photos.
