Among the many castles of Italy, the Castello del Trebbio deserves a special mention. This tiny castle is located in a picturesque spot on the hills of Pontassieve, in the most authentic Tuscany, about 30 minutes from the centre of Florence. The castle is so charming and on top of a mountainous region that overlooks everything you might want in Tuscany: vineyards, olive groves, rolling hills, little stucco coated houses with red roofs lost in the lush countryside. You get to experience all of this while sipping Chianti wines and touring the castle property, or making pasta during the classes the managers arrange for visitors. Lost on the grounds you will find modernised and renovated Tuscan villas, with a private pool and large terraces with barbecue. The place itself is lovely, and the people who work there make every day perfect.
The spouses below had chosen Castello del Trebbio mainly for its features, unique for intimate weddings in the Tuscan countryside. Only here you can get married in the court of a real castle and, once exchanged vows and rings, leave the ceremony through the main door and find yourself in a garden with a legendary view. That’s what happened to these lovers from England! They got ready with bridesmaids and groomsmen by the villas; the groom has watched the bride walking down the aisle and, after the first kiss as husband and wife in the courtyard, they started the celebrations! And while their guests were enjoying an aperitif based on local wines and canapés on the terrace with a view, I stole the newlyweds for some wedding photos around the property. The Castello del Trebbio is a paradise for all the wedding photographers; the spots for breathtaking portraits are endless and choosing only a few of them is very difficult. The bride and groom were both exquisite in their outfits, they giggled and joked while I captured their pictures at sunset.
The dinner took place by the restaurant La Sosta del Gusto where Sabrina has prepared the best dinner ever! Here I greeted the bride and groom after the traditional speeches. I can’t wait to go back to Castello del Trebbio for another beautiful wedding in Tuscany!
