Villa di Catignano is an ancient house lost in the countryside just a few minute drive away from Siena. It is one of the most enchanting places to organise a rustic al fresco wedding.
Villa di Catignano is also extremely functional, that is, it offers everything necessary for a fabulous marriage: large rooms decorated with frescoes to accommodate the spouses and their families; a lovely garden for the ceremony and the reception and finally the inner courtyard for the dinner. Even in the case of rain, Villa di Catignano can receive the guests in the rooms inside the villa, although the outside is the true flagship of the estate.
These two French guys know that! In fact, they have chosen Villa di Catignano as their venue for both the ceremony and the reception. The bride got ready in one of the magnificent ancient rooms, surrounded by her closest friends and family members. The groom waited for her in the garden and watched her walk down the lawn as she headed to the altar.
After the fateful yes, I took some family portraits before capturing the wedding photos of the bride and groom. It was not difficult at all! The spouses were super happy and the beautiful sunny day helped me to take sharp images with the Tuscan scenery in the background.
The Villa of Catignano offers many spaces for the wedding reception. The first part was held in the garden, where two large tables with drinks and canapés were set up. The second part took place inside the courtyard, surrounded by historic walls and illuminated by catenaries. The tables had been set up with a rustic decor, candles and fresh flowers, and even the old well had been adorned with some lights.
It was exciting to witness the speeches of excited family members before they went wild on the dance floor. Please see below some photos!
