Surrounded by the gorgeous and uninhabited countryside of Val d’Orcia, there are many charming farmhouses. The relaxed lifestyle, the historical background, flower-filled gardens, the Slow Food and good wine make these facilities perfect for relaxing holidays. The love for the authentic and true things of life is breathed in every spot; the affability and kindness of the owners make them perfect for all kinds of events, including weddings. In fact, more and more couples, from all over the world, choose these farmhouses as a location for their celebration. Often this is also a great opportunity to have a short holiday with family and closest friends.
If this is what you’re looking for, Pieve a Pava is the ideal venue. The property is located in the hills of Asciano and San Quirico d’Orcia, in one of the most interesting areas of Tuscany. Far from busy roads and surrounded by wild nature, this guesthouse is the perfect place to organise rustic-chic styled weddings. This couple from Central America chose Pieve a Pava for many reasons, including the charming little church of the property. But first things first.
The spouses got ready in their rooms, and they met in the courtyard, where other family members and friends were also present. After the religious ceremony and the traditional portraits with the wedding party, I benefited from the warm glow of the sunset to capture intimate pictures in the countryside. We got there with a fantastic Fiat Cinquecento that the property made available to the couple. We were so lucky to even find a beautiful field of sunflowers in bloom!
The couple joined the rest of their guests by the pool at dusk, where they toasted with champagne and canapes before dinner. Three big imperial rustic tables were set up. The lighting of the twinking lights created an intimate and relaxed atmosphere. The menu included, among many delicious dishes, local meat grilled at the moment. A truly authentic dinner, thanks also to the delicious local red wine.
The cake toss and the first dance took place in the courtyard. I greeted the newlyweds during the dances, still excited and happy after a long day. See you soon guys, Tuscany is looking forward to meeting you again!
